This place was my son’s pick and we were prepared to “pay for the view less about the food”, so we were not disappointed…. I had the NY Steak it was actually juicy, we also had clam linguine, veal masala and generally their portions were appropriate for their price but the taste could be better. We had the lava cake and tiramisu as deserts now the deserts really were on the bland side, too sweet for our taste.
Otherwise we enjoyed the conversation in moonlit breezy ocean front ambiance, and the service was very attentive.
But agreed I am not dying to be back to this place for the next couple of days while we are in Maui.

A great restaurant that’s view and service are both top notch. Everything here is very well prepared and delicious.
The drinks are well done and the wine is wonderful.
The service here really works hard to give great service. They have always been friendly and will make sure everything is right.
Make sure you have reservations or you may get stuck waiting for a while to get dinner.

Very disappointing experience. My girlfriend ordered Linguini with Clams. Her favorite. It was completely without taste, borderline insipid. It would be disappointing at $25 let alone $40. I had Rigatoni Bolognese and it was also very average. These guys need a better chef. They are the only game in town when it comes to Italian food and clearly they are exploiting that fact. Credit to our great waiter Thomas. When we told him about the linguine/clams he got us a free desert and coffee. Desert was excellent but the coffee has been on the heater too long and was burnt. $200 total for a meal we could have got a much better version of for $100 in Denver. We understand that Islands are more expensive as are resort area eateries but this was not worth the money at half the price. Won’t be going back.

Wow! Thse location and the food was fabulous! Great Chicken Marsalis and mashed potatoes. The sauce was out of the world! There were three options but we went with the traditional way. The Old Fashion was very good. The view was amazing of the Pacific Ocean! Great service and good bread.

If you are going to claim “World Famous Eggs Benedict” on menu, don’t serve it with horrendously poached eggs. Then when asked for a new set of eggs, don’t serve them in a ramekin with the vinegar cooking water undrained and the eggs way undercooked (raw whites).
We also had to flag down another waiter because ours was nowhere to be seen near our table once he got our order.
Unfortunately this place just isn’t worth it. Experience with eggs aside, $6 milks for the kids ($7 for chocolate milk), and a “chocolate chip” pancake that’s just a pancake with a small pile of chocolate chips on top. Not even good chocolate chips either, seized up when we tried to spread the semi-melted chips. There are better options within only a few minutes walk (Hula Grill, Monkeypod, just to name a few!). Nothing about this place demonstrates care or customer-focused experience decisions. Just the “beach side money grab”.

Have been coming to Maui every year for over a decade..always with a stop at Longhi’s.This time something was missing…service was just okay, atmosphere bordered on depressing and the food was not up to past standards…presentation was lacking, food was frankly awful. My veal piccata tasted like it had been boiled rather than sautéed, it was poorly seasoned, loose and floppy rather than a firmer well prepared cutlet. The potatoes were tasteless, lumpy and unseasoned. I certainly won’t be encouraging anyone to book and I don’t know that I’ll want to give this restaurant another chance when I return.

Tim is by far the best bartender we have ever had. I have been coming to the Marriott for 22 years, and Tim’s service is exceptional and makes us feel like this is truly our home away from home. This place would not have a 5-star review without him. If Tim is working the bar, request him. The rigatoni bolognese, the lava cake, and the calamari are good as well, but I wanted to take the time to give Tim a well-deserved shout out. This restaurant would not be the same without him.

I’ve been eating at Longhi’s at various locations since the 1980s. It’s an iconic brand with a stellar tradition. There’s nothing left of it except the name. The location in Kaanapali is wonderful, but everything else is awful, from service to portion size, to food. The mai tai was the worst I’ve had in Maui. They’ve cut corners on everything, as if a hedge fund is in charge. They always served warm pizza bread to all customers. It’s gone, as is all of my appreciation for a once great establishment.

One star for location. Superb location. Now the rest.
1. Service was horrible. We were seated right away however, we didn’t get waters for 20 minutes. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because there was only one waitress. Not her fault but she had horrible service.
2. Food was sub par. When the food finally arrived, almost 60 minutes after we were seated, it was dry and over cooked.
My wife and I got eggs Benedict, one spinach and one classic. One of them the eggs where almost well done and both of them the sauce was clumpy. See the video. The kids pancakes were dry. For a hungry kid to complain about pancakes, you know it’s bad.
3. The order was wrong. Items were missing, such as one of my kids orange juice. We asked for chocolate chips on the side but that simple request didn’t go through. Finally we returned the Benedict and had to correct the check to remove the extra orange juice.
So disappointing. We came here specifically to have a beautiful breakfast and experience at a nice restaurant. I understand it wasn’t fully the waitresses fault. The place is clearly poorly managed. Not what I expect from a beachfront pricy restaurant.

Let this be your warning – do not come here. I have worked in the service industry for years and I have never had such a terrible experience. I am always gracious of circumstances but our Christmas Eve dinner here was a dinner from hell. We waited 20min to be sat and 30min for a server to come. After we placed our drink AND food order, we waited 30min for our drinks followed another HOUR for our food to come. Meanwhile, no server/manager came by to let us know about wait times for food or check in about quality of meals. Food sucked and drinks were so mid. After everything – no apologies and a nasty meal. Hope this helps and I hope if you do go – it’s better than this. Godspeed.
