I grew up eating here, but now I make it back once (maybe twice) per year for the annual “oil change” as some friends have called it. This past December I was able to get back home for a couple of days and went through the drive through while my wife was shopping. Firstly, it was surprisingly friendly service. I am a sucker for good service that feels organic instead of fake. When I got to the parking lot of where my wife was shopping, I dug in. To my surprise, it tasted like the LJS of my childhood. Crispy fish, great batter flavor on the shrimp, and tender chicken. The cole slaw was sweet and creamy like it was in the past and the fries were fresh and tasty. I’m not sure if long John silver’s has made an effort to get back to where they once were, but I really enjoyed the food, more than I have in years. If you are wondering “should I try it again, they weren’t very good the last time”, give ’em a try, you may be surprised. If you do try and are disappointed, leave me a reply so I can be aware when I make it back I 2026.

I will never waste my time here. I’m from out of town visiting a sick brother. He requested food from here. Ordered ove $90 worth of food online. Was missing 3 orders and 2 drinks. It was a 20 minute drive to the restaurant. If you go, order at the windows and verify what you get before leaving. I can’t believe this location is in business with service like this.

I’ve hadn’t been around this restaurant for quite a while. I was excited to get a plate. I ordered the chicken platter in the drive threw. Was Not impressed at all, my food was cold. I won’t be returning.

First category: the food. The food is absolutely DELICIOUS here in Ripley, West Virginia. A little bit of wait time but that’s worth the wait. I absolutely love it here, my favorite restaurant of all time.

Love the batter-dipped fish, chicken and shrimp combos. Tender hushpuppies melt in your mouth. We stop here every time we pass through the area. Food is hot and they made the chicken fresh at our order.

This was a delicious experience. It really hit the spot tonight. Ordered to-go and it all came out hot and fresh. They loaded us up on the sauces too. They really did a good job. The restaurant itself could use a cleaning but again it was a to- go order.
