We stopped at Lone Star BBQ in Fort Worth and were seriously impressed. The brisket was absolutely awesome—tender, flavorful, and smoked just right. My son had the ribs and loved them—fall-off-the-bone good. The broccoli and rice was surprisingly tasty, and the barbecue sauce was on point, bringing everything together. The only miss was the macaroni and cheese, which was a bit subpar. But the banana pudding? Incredible. Worth the stop for sure!

Brisket was thinly sliced tender, but a little dry, 4/5
Green beans tender, but not soggy, but definitely needed more seasoning, perhaps some garlic pepper or crushed red pepper to provide a little kick. 4/5
The rice & broccoli was not to our liking at all, & quite frankly seems like an odd combination to me. 2/5

I ordered pickup from this BBQ place, and everything was ready right on time! The food was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The turkey from Three meat plate was the standout—perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. Great experience all around, and I’ll definitely be back.

5-30-25 I have to rave about the cole slaw tonight. The cabbage was fresh and crisp. I always hate when you get cole slaw that isn’t crisp. Just goes to show they continue to make fresh sides to go with the amazing bbq.
2-14-25 update. The sausage and the brisket were full of flavor tonight… very rich and smokey. The brisket was melt in my mouth tender.
1-11-25 update. Continues to give great customer service and excellent food.
8-1-24 update. Still great food and service. This time I also got a 1lbs of brisket to take home.
Quick service…. and better yet excellent BBQ. The sliced brisket had just the right smoke. The okra was fried to a perfect crisp, the beans represented a great “ranch beans” style and the potato salad was a deluxe variety with plenty of crunch. It was nice to see an old fashioned pickle bar… it’s not authentic BBQ without one. I could take a dozen of their fluffy rolls to go!!!

This is a great, local barbeque place! The atmosphere fits the food, and the service matches the culture. I normally try to find some way to deduct a star to give the reader something to realize I’m an independent reviewer, but I can’t find anything to deduct from Lone Star!!!

Placed an order for 14 lunches. Why could they not write the names – that were provided – on the outside of the boxes? Why do we have to open up every person’s meal to figure out who it goes to? Less than impressed..

Family friendly and fun people and atmosphere. Plenty of clean silverware, seating, and restrooms. Real smokehouse and large menu sure to please! Childrens meal was great and their BBQ sauce is unique and tasty! Their salad is so fresh and hardy! Too bad I don’t live in town! Enjoy!

Service was fine prices weren’t bad about average. The meat was dry across the board I had the chicken, brisket, and jalapeño sausage and like I said all of them were dry in texture and taste. The jalapeño sausage was a major letdown taste fell flat all you could taste was the taste of a pickled jalapeño and dry sausage. The brisket didn’t taste bad it just was very dry, really putting a damper on the meal. However the only reason it gets a 3 star instead of a 1 or 2 star was how fantastic the macaroni and cheese was if you do come here order it, but stay away from the beans they are under cooked (tough chew)

Tried this place for the first time and no wonder they’ve been here for so long! The staff were so friendly, food was very tasty, portions were perfect and the place was inviting and great overall.
We got the chopped brisket, my personal favorite was the broccoli casserole and my husbands was the Mac and cheese.
The sauces were amazing as well!
