This place is lovely and probably has the best prices and array of fish and chips, also offering shrimp and chips – and sides such as soup or coleslaw to some dishes. I will definitely be coming back here as a fan of the casual diner, and a fan of fish and chips! I will certainly be eating in next time but I can attest to the quality and cleanliness of the diner-like establishment.

I got the three-piece fish and chips. Everything was fresh. You could tell they use fresh oil the fish was golden. Also fries were golden. The taste brought me back to my childhood with Melroy’s fish and chips on Gratiot at 9 mile. If you’re in the area, you must try it.

Little place tucked into a strip center just off I-94 on Harper.
One man running the place on a Monday at noon. Had the local news on the TV in the corner. (I’m a news junkie so that’s fine with me) Volume was a bit high but with the ambient sounds in the kitchen & his hearing issue, I’m not surprised.
Got the 2 piece special which comes with fries (duh), coleslaw & a pair of hushpuppies.
Fish was well cooked, hot but a little bland. Fries were unsalted (salt packets provided). Hushpuppies were very tasty, could’ve eaten a half dozen.
Do wish the utensil wasn’t a weak plastic fork. Made eating a bit of a chore.
And the floor was sticky in some places.

I can’t rate the service or atmosphere because I ordered with doordash. But omg is it going to be hard to not order here daily. I’m not a big fish and chips person, it just seems like it’s a hard thing to get just right, but it may just be my 2nd favorite food now. Sorry pizza will always be my 1st love. So bummed to find out they’re in Clinton twp and I never found them when I lived there.

OUTSTANDING fish & chips! However, the place is filthy. . . dusty vents, exit sign hanging by cord, floors desperately need mop, tables needs better cleaning, & the cooking area is a disaster. They need to shut down for a day or 2 & do a thorough cleaning. I suggest take-out.

He was suppose to open @ 1130hrs. I got there @1147hrs & the place was not open. I went down the street to do some other errands & returned @ 1200hrs. He was open, but said the fryer would not be ready for another 15 minutes.
Here is a pic of him lighting off the fryer just before I asked. Zoom in, & you can tell how filthy it is. That grease is not 1 day, but months if not years old. . . disgusting.

A hidden gem of a fish and chips shop. The smell is extraordinary and it reminds me of many shops around Sheffield when I had fish and chips growing up.
