Pictured are two entrees from this wonderful restaurant. One was chicken parm and sadly I forgot the name of the other one… one I did not get but tried. Both these dishes were great. Would recommend trying this place to all. Plus the fresh bread is amazing!!

Had the most delicious rib eye grilled with grilled veggies with ziti and tomato sauce. It was outstanding and can’t wait to order out their outstanding dinner again.

Quaint, clean, cozy atmosphere. I had the salmon stuffed with crab meat, encrusted in a breadcrumb and topped with lobster sauce. It was absolutely amazing. Got a wonderful salad with peppercorn Parmesan dressing, which was a mixed green salad which I love. And I had a pinot noir Murphy good which was fantastic so good that I want to go and try to find it in the package store. My husband got the clams casino, which was amazing and I got the shiitake mushroom, smothered with shrimp, scallions, and some other greens. It was amazing.

I have been coming to Lomonacos since I was a kid. It has always been a family favorite. The last few years the quality has gone down hill. We keep giving them a second third forth fifth sixth chance and so on. Tonight we received a sad order fried mooz. Super undercooked and doughy. On the menu they advertise pasta bolognese which is what I ordered. What I got was their red sauce sprinkled with maybe 2 tablespoons of ground beef. One would expect there to be meat in every bite when ordering bolognese. I went back and reread their menu which clearly states bolognese then the fine print says its a traditional meat sauce. I’m not sure I got either of those 2, but “bolognese” and “meat sauce” are two different sauces.. Should have just paid the few extra dollars at Rosso Vino; Buyers remorse. However, the bread was fresh and tasty.

Had the Zuppa di Pesce. Ordered it Fra Diablo. So good. Just the right amount of seafood and Angel Hair. Also, their fried calamari…very light. Lastly, their peanut butter caramel pie. So good!

I come here very frequently with my husband. The other day we came with his family and we got steak sandwiches and pizza for takeout, we asked for blue cheese for each of our sandwiches and were charged 75 cents for each little container! Like its not about the money but come on, you don’t need to be that cheap. That never happened before.

Best service in town. Best take out in town. 20 years later and a plain mozzarella is still the same price as it was 20 years ago, and it did not come at the cost of quality. The staff in back goes out of their way to smile. Never charge for an extra slice of bread or an extra dressing. All around phenomenal. I been in town my entire life of 41 years and I can’t remember a better restaurant. I recently moved to East Haven and we travel back to Branford at least twice a week because nothing compares in either direction, East Haven to New Haven. Lo Monocos gives any pie in New Haven a run for its money, and the includes all the “famous” spots as well. You will not be disappointed.

Having a wheat allergy, usually results in terrible holiday meals. We went there for our Christmas/holiday party at work and I appreciate that they took the extra steps so that I wasn’t sitting there looking at my fingers the entire meal while other people ate. Their gluten free pasta is amazing and their wait staff all made sure I was taken care of and secure about what I was eating. Gluten free people check this restaurant out!
