“Officially, today was my first time here and I really enjoyed it! My husband and I chose the molcajete, and it was delicious—good enough for both of us! They offered a decent portion of everything, and you could tell it was all freshly made. We are definitely going back with all our family members next time.”

Ordered 4 beef sopes (no side of rice/beans) and a medium sized bowl (no choice of size) of albondigas (meatball) soup. They only provide water in water bottles. The beef in the sopes was fairly gristle with little flavor. The bread/tortilla of the sopes was good and tasted homemade but everything else was below average. I would not oder it again.

The soup was okay. Not bad. You get a side of fresh diced onions and lemon wedges which I think is a bit on light side as a full service restaurant would include fresh jalapeños, and cilantro. I would not order the soup again. Nothing special about it.

The best part is the homemade tortillas.

The odd parts: 1) no prices on the menu. Nothing has prices. It’s just a surprise when you are finished and walk up to the CASH only register to pay. My bill was $37 which I felt was pretty steep for the quality/quantity provided. It’s a busy place so plenty of other “regulars” would probably disagree.

The other odd part was that they brought us out a stack of tortillas and some salsa which comes with the soup. We ate 1 tortilla and some of the salsa. A minute or two later they came back and said that my meal only came with 4 tortillas and the stack of 6 tortillas was for a different table. They actually took my partially eaten stack of tortillas and gave them to another table. How very odd.

The bathrooms are a little dirty. I would have a tough time going back but I hate giving local mom/pop places less than 3 stars. Honestly, they would otherwise get 1 star.
