Social Profile:

Welcome to Loma Linda, a family tradition and a Toledo Legacy. The Adela Mundt name has long been synonymous with the promise of excellent food, memorable experiences and family traditions since June 9, 1955. Adela and her family started as migrant workers with humble beginnings, but their knowledge of Tex-Mex cooking would forever change the Mexican food experience in Toledo. Today, the Loma Linda tradition continues under the guidance of Jeanie Kunzer and Mike Kunzer. With pride, they honor their mother’s heritage at Loma Linda Restaurant every day.

Veteran spot serving Mexican standards with margaritas & beer in a simple, cantina-style space.

The food was not terrible but it was not great either. What was presented as spicy salsa had no heat to it whatsoever. The enchiladas I had were prepared well, but with seemingly no seasoning on the meat. It was a great atmosphere and the service from our waitress was very good. If I visit the area again I would try some other Mexican restaurants first, but would not be against eating here again.

I have to be honest…I had not been to Loma’s for more than 2 years, due to many personal reasons. So, I decided to read the reviews. There were many good positive reviews, but WOW, I could not believe how bad some of them were. My wife and I decided to see for ourselves so we went on over. Many of the bad reviews commented on how this was not an authentic Mexican restaurant. I will agree with them. Loma Linda’s is not an authentic Mexican (food style) restaurant! What they are is an authentic “Americana Tex-Mex” style food! If you want authentic Mexican cuisine, there are plenty of them around (and the number of those restaurants keeps growing.) If you want Ohio’s take on Americana Tex-Mex then Loma’s is the place for you. I have been going to Loma’s since the old days of the shoddy small building with the business cards stuck in the ceiling grid. It is the exact same food today as it was back then. I personally prefer the Ohio Tex-Mex style, (Loma Linda Style) then any other Mexican named restaurants. If you dislike Loma’s, by all means frequent a restaurant of your choice whether it be (authentic or non-authentic.)
Well, enough said about that. My meal, my margaritas, and service rendered was outstanding this evening!!! Attached are pictures of my food and drink. Thanks Loma Linda owners, managers, and staff for keeping your style and quality consistent over the years!!

I wanted to give a shout-out to Loma Linda’s for making our family reunion so special. Our family is from the area, and we came back to honor our late dad who used to bring us here as kids. My mom even remembers coming here as a teenager while attending Maumee High in the 1950s. To relive those memories, we stopped by on Friday, June 13, 2025.

There were nine of us and we sat at the big table near the entrance. Our server was super attentive, and the food was just like we remembered. The margaritas were delicious, and the restaurant had a great vibe. My cousin picked up the check, so I missed our server’s name, but she was the same person who took care of me when I visited alone in 2023.

Loma Linda’s was the perfect stop on our nostalgia tour. We can’t wait to come back next time we’re in town. Gracias!

Worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. Served store bought chips and salsa. Margaritas are very small and watered down. Served fake velveeta cheese on top of everything. Rice is also store bought box rice. Very disappointed in the overall quality and taste of the food. If you want good authentic Mexican food go to La Fiesta in Maumee or Cocina de Carlo in Waterville.

Food was horrible. Chips with Velveeta on them. Enchiladas was tortilla and ground beef with Velveeta cheese on it with no Enchilada sauce. Salsa was straight out of a jug. Might be the worst mexican food around.

Food is mediocre. Nothing special . We love their salsa, always very fresh. Margarita’s are ok, but not as good as they have been in the past.

I went specifically to try the ribs after hearing how great they were. I was not disappointed! They were very tender, meaty and the sauce was flavorful with a bit of heat. Not overly sweet or artificially smoked.

One of Toledo’s most loved & iconic Mexican restaurants. Their food is as delicious as when I first ate there back in the 80’s. Out by the airport, it’s well worth the trip.
