If I could have done 4.5 stars overall and food in would’ve. We were in the area for a night I found this well-reviewed spot. This is a great local Italian spot if you’re from this area or traveling to this area. Highly recommended. The portions for entrees were huge, I would recommend sharing between two. The meal deal $45 for 2 entree’s with soup or salad and splitting an app is your best bet.

We had a wonderful meal at L’olivia! Started with the clams appetizer, which was absolutely delicious— sauce was outstanding. The breadcrumbs and beans were a perfect addition. For my entrée, I had the chicken Milanese and it was cooked beautifully: crispy, flavorful, and generously portioned. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The staff were attentive. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu!

I attended L’Olivia for a bridal shower. I am gluten free and can usually find something at a venue, so I didn’t make a big deal. When they caught wind of me being gluten free, they rolled out the red carpet. I have never had so many gluten free options, ever! In 8 years of eating gluten free, I’ve never had a gf mozzarella stick. I had one at L’Olivia’s and it was the best one I’ve ever had! The chicken parm was amazing as well as the penne vodka!! I was also brought out gf zucchini and gf calamari!! My table had regular pizza and my gluten free pizza. They loved the gluten free pizza too!! I Highly recommend the very attentive and kind staff and the thoughtful owner who was on his game the whole event.

L’Olivia Pizzeria & Ristorante in Farmingdale, NJ was truly one of the best dining experiences our family has had in a long time.
My wife has celiac disease and must eat gluten free, so finding restaurants that are both safe and genuinely delicious can be challenging. She came across L’Olivia through online reviews and one of her gluten free apps, and we are so thankful she did. This place absolutely exceeded every expectation.
We arrived around 7:45 pm on a Friday night after our older son had hockey practice nearby in Howell. The restaurant was busy, but when we added our name to the waitlist, we were given an estimated wait time of about 20 minutes. The staff member who took our name was extremely friendly and kept us updated throughout the wait. While we were waiting, John, the owner, went out of his way to acknowledge our family of four and even offered our boys lemonade or a slice of pizza. That simple gesture immediately made us feel welcome and appreciated.
Once our table was ready, we were seated promptly, and from there the experience only got better. A staff member stopped by to take our drink order to help out our waitress, which we really appreciated. Shortly after, our waitress Britney (spelling?) came over and took our order. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel right at home.
For appetizers, our oldest son ordered the caprese salad and absolutely loved it. Our boys shared a basic dinner of chicken fingers and fries, which honestly looked far better than most “kids meals.” My wife ordered the gluten free fried calamari, and it was outstanding — hands down some of the best gluten free fried calamari we’ve ever had.
For our entrees, my wife ordered the gluten free chicken francese and I had the chicken vodka. The portions were enormous, easily enough for two people, and the food was phenomenal. My chicken was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender. I usually avoid red sauce and gravitate toward vodka sauce, and this one was excellent. My wife couldn’t stop talking about how delicious her gluten free chicken francese was.
To top off an already perfect evening, John told my wife about a gluten free dessert he could make using a gluten free pizza crust, cut into triangles and fried, served with homemade cannoli cream and fresh sliced strawberries. We all tried it, and it was such a creative and absolutely delicious gluten free dessert. Truly a standout.
Throughout the entire meal, both John and Britney checked in on us frequently — not just to make sure everything was great, but to genuinely engage in conversation, ask about our evening, and even chat a bit about sports. We never once felt rushed or overlooked. Instead, we felt welcomed, valued, and truly cared for.
This experience meant so much to our entire family. We enjoyed incredible Italian food, felt completely comfortable with gluten free options for my wife, and were treated like more than just customers. It’s rare to find all of that in one place.
We quickly learned that reservations are definitely recommended for a Friday night, but we will happily make one next time — because there will absolutely be a next time. We will definitely plan to return and bring our extended family so they can experience L’Olivia the same way we did. Thank you to John and the entire staff for such a memorable evening.

The food didnt come hot, but in their defense I live over 15 mins away and it was delivery.
Regardless. The food was EXTREMELY tasty. The pizza.. the knots.. so delicious!
I wanted to come in for dinner but reservations were full until 730. Not a huge deal
Delivery guy was there at 530 ON THE DOT.

Came here to celebrate our mother’s birthday, and i don’t know where to start!! The food was amazing!!!! We ordered a bunch of apps – calamari, rice ball, mozzarella sticks, eggplant tower, sausage and broccoli rabe ALL 10/10! For dinner we ordered vodka chicken parm, again loved everything! Service was great, everyone was friendly and welcoming. I can’t wait to come back and try more. I highly recommend this place!

We made reservations, waited about 20 minutes on Saturday, not bad, very busy, which is a good thing ! They kept updating us when we’d get a table, which was nice ! Our server “Vicki” was so nice & very helpful, as it was our 1st visit ! The food was delicious & service very good ! We did the $45 special, great deal !
