This place has indoor seating and outdoor seating and we sat outside. I enjoyed the atmosphere. However the burger was underwhelming. My sister ordered the Frita burger and she loved it but it was cold and so were the fries. I ordered the burger with the Brie, bacon and onion and it was meh! And also cold with cold fries. The burger looked like they made no effort when preparing. I really wanted to love this place but I just don’t. I do have to mention that our waiter was super friendly.

Part of the Kush family of restaurants, LoKal hit every bulletin point. The Cubano was prepared with smoked pulled pork and was one of, if not THE best, Cuban sandwiches I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere and some euphoric twists are sure to leave both your mind and your stomach elevated!

This is the best burger spot in Miami, no contest. The group has multiple locations (Brickell, Wynwood and Coconut Grove with slight variations in the menu). Coconut grove is by far the best spot and we always come back for more, don’t think twice. For first timers must try are the Frita and Alligator bites as an appetizer.

Staff was very inattentive, short, and unwelcoming. Wasn’t asked a single time how the food was and was left for long periods without being checked on. Finished the whole meal before our server (Nic) came back so we couldn’t even let him know that the food wasn’t great either. Started with the guacamole which tasted old and was an incredibly underwhelming portion size for $15. Fried pickles were alright, but nothing special at all. Burgers tasted decent enough but we ordered them medium rare and they were definitely over cooked. Fries were average. Never had the chance to ask for more napkins when we needed them because the servers were not around. When a lady brought our glass of wine, she just stared at the ground the whole time and responded with a cold sounding “yes” after we said thank you. Just an incredibly unwelcoming experience from all staff. Very disappointed since this place has such good reviews. My husband and I work in the service industry and try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but there really was no reason to go back here.

I have decided I will not go to Lokal as much as I used to. Although I like the food and service is good, they have decided on smaller portions and bigger prices as of late. It’s a shame some popular places go down this route. It a disservice to Grove residents and loyal customers.

We came for a dinner with a friend who wanted something “American” so we decided burgers. Lokal has some of the best, we choose the “Frita by Kush” and “The Lokal”, it was a great decision, my friend loved the guava and the other enjoyed the actual burger.

Chicken sandwiches and sweet potato fries were great! Our server went MIA for a while until someone called him to take care of 2 tables that had just gotten seated. He hadn’t been taking care of the only one he had. Lots of staff walking around but not making eye contact to get what we needed. Our server also looked expectantly for us to order drinks, but when they didn’t have what we were interested in, he made no suggestions, so we skipped it. The check automatically added in a 20% tip. Frustrating since he did NOT meet expectations.

Great place with great staff! Very attentive and helpful if you need any suggestions and want to try something new. Also great at making sure to cater towards any allergies. Alligator bites are a must!
