Old-school American restaurant serving classic comfort dishes & signature pies since 1949.
Texas Catfish (John Crouch)
Travelled to Tyler Texas on business and while out there I got the idea to look for the old school county buffet. I found Loggins. The reviews rated it as 4.5 and the menu seemed right up my alley. When I arrived and walked in there was a large crowd which made me feel good. The parking lot was full another good sign. After I sat down and ordered a water I walked to the buffet. It was smaller than expect but options where fish, spagethi, goulash, fried chicken, chicken fried steak and side. I tried the fish as yall know and it was super fries, so much that you could not eat. The other dishes where all overly cooked and everything lacked seasoning at all. The mac and cheese was more like a soup . The food was abysmal. The only thing that was good was the sweet potatoes but they were right our of a can and warmed up. Same thing you get from a grocery store. The staff was great and the homemade pie was okay. But it’s the staff that makes it. Nothing like hearing sweetie and dear. They were attentive and working hard. Which is the only reason this place is a 3 star. If you looking for a replacement for old country buffet this is not it. But the staff reminds you that old Town kindness we all remember from our youth. Sorry to say I am a one and done for Loggins Buffet.

My wife and I came here for the first time. It was very good. Food was very fresh and cooked well. Fried fish and chicken were nice and crispy and tasted very fresh. The liver and onions were my favorite, but I love liver and onions. Especially when it’s done right. Service was very good, and the atmosphere was nice. We will definitely be back, and I recommend this to anyone looking for a buffet that doesn’t skimp on quality.

A little off the beaten path, you pull up to this vintage set building with its dated decore and aged format, but wait… We were greeted by smiling faces who informed us to sit where we like, so we chose a booth with our waitress right at our side asking for our drink order. Smiling, she repeated our drink request and departed to fill the order as we headed to the buffet for our meal. The food is all homemade, hot and tasty! The desserts are made fresh, a large variety, and delicious! Worthy of any fork! Everything was clean and tidy, the staff all busy, helpful and smiling made for a very enjoyable lunch.
Recommend this establishment that has been making it happen for over 70 years!

Best of the best. Nicest and sweetest people you’ll ever dine with. 75 years in business.
The wait staff are beyond belief in helping you with any dinning needs.
I hear them call customers by name and know what their customers want and they cater to that.
You would think your a calerberty and the red carpet has been rolled out for you personally.
Its our new and forever home for a great variety of food fun and good value.
It doesn’t get any better.

I’m in Heaven !! The quintessential Southern buffet; so many pies you can’t choose!!! If you yearn for comfort food , they have you covered! The homemade Chicken Pot Pie, Chicken & Dumplings, Fried Catfish, Fried Chicken, Liver & Onions, (the list goes on & on) are just as good as the country style veggies! Service is fantastic and the price extremely reasonable! They have learned how to “do it right” because they have been “doin it” since 1949!

Imagine going to your grandmas house & she’s made all of your favorite things from scratch. All of them. Fried chicken, Mac & cheese, kielbasa & sour kraut, chicken fried steak & gravy… then all the fresh pies, puddings & cobblers you can think of. Then, you have the sweetest little ladies running things. Everything was fresh. I’m not a buffet person, but this place is pretty legit.

This is an awesome old time place. You can tell it’s been around a long time. The buffet has lots of options. It’s all home cooked food so it tastes way better than Golden Corral. They are only open for lunch and closed on Saturdays. The staff was very friendly. We definitely recommend, and will come back again.
