I grew up about 10 miles away but had never been here. Just visited on a trip back to town and I’m just sad of all the times I could have eaten here but didn’t. Exactly what a real bbq joint should be (minus one political sign they should probably remove)

I’ve lived in Rome for 10+ years and have never tried this place. Boy, was that a huge mistake. Tried it for the first time and the food was amazing! The Brunswick stew is THE BEST in the entirety of Rome. Their sauce is also the best in Rome. Half smoked chicken was moist and had so much flavor. I’ve tried every other BBQ place available around here and this is the only one that has true country home cooking. None of that corporate b.s. with minimal flavor and no love. This establishment makes you feel like you got in a time machine only to arrive right at your childhood home! The waitresses are lovely sweet ladies that make you feel welcome and the kitchen pushes out delicious food super quick. Thank you Log Cabin for an amazing experience. We will be back!

This is a hole in the wall of a hole in the wall. Burt Reynolds would have called this place the local “choke and puke.” Of all the restaurants visited, the cole slaw….. for me, was like momma used to make. The turnip greens were good. The Brunswick stew was not the cookie cutter one like everyone else’s. It was a pleasant surprise. Will be going back

Absolutely wonderful place off the beaten path. The burgers were amazing, as was the cheese sticks and onions rings! The portions are insanely large for the price. It was delicious. Their Brunswick stew was some of the best I’ve ever had. Our server, Caylin (sorry for spelling!) was all around one of the nicest and kind people I’ve met. The place is very small, but don’t let it fool you. This place has quality food and worth a visit.

The sides are great, the bbq not so much. Ordered the sample plate, because why not, and the chicken is cold, tough, and completely unseasoned. The pulled pork is decent but covered in sauce that overides the flavor. The brisket was sauced and marginal. For me the ribs were to sweet and everything was covered in oil, you can see it on the plate. I’m guessing they cover it with tallow but I’ve never seen it on the plate like that. It’s very smokey. Onion rings have a thick batter and are super greasy. Great value.

This is a nice little surprise outside of town. I found this place while I was looking for directions to another place and thought I’d give it a try. The inside is very small with only a few tables. When I stopped it was Saturday afternoon and there was only one table available. A nice lady was working the counter, taking orders and waiting on tables. The food was good, good size portions and good prices. They also have specials for lunch and dinners written on a chalkboard. I enjoyed my lunch and will return to try other menu items.

This place was recommended to me, and based off the description given I was really looking forward to trying the food here. When myself and my companion arrived at the restaurant we announced that we were excited as it was our first time in. Once we were seated we again told the server it was our first time in. The server seemed upset at something as soon as she arrived at our table. We asked some questions about the menu, and began ordering. We both ordered the same thing. The waitress seemed like she was bothered at any question or requests we had. No where on the menu description does it say the item will have bbq sauce on it. Every other place I’ve eaten bbq at either a. Asks you if you want the sauce on the side, b. doesn’t put sauce on it and you automatically get it on the side, or c. Tells you in the description the sauce will be on the entree so that you can ask for it to be on the side. Because let’s face it yall, not all sauce is created equal. This server went with option D. Just ignore and gaslight the customer. When she arrived with our food it was slathered in what looked like brown gravy. My friend said “oh I said no gravy”she told us that’s not gravy that’s sauce. My friend said oh the description doesn’t say it’s covered in sauce can you please remake mine. I was about to request the same because I also did not want sauce added to mine, because nowhere in the description did it say sauce would be on the bbq, but before we could even finish uttering our response, the server started shaking her head no, said we got the last of her beef, looked at us as if we were the most dumb people on the planet, AND THEN she started loudly announcing to everyone else in the restaurant as she was walking away from us that she “would have never have thought to ask or tell anyone that sauce is on it, because…” but the because never came. She just trailed off. She served us two plates of fat slabs with a little bit of grey meat inside of it that was then slathered in a thin, watery, “sauce.” I was not able to eat even a bite of it and my companion tried two bites of hers. The server was extremely rude throughout. The other patrons were nicer to us that the people who worked here. Appetizers were good, mashed potatoes were good for instant, and the other patrons were pretty nice. Apart from that this place isn’t worth it. We let her know we didn’t eat the entree because it was inedible (which we had already explained to her upon delivery) and she rudely told us “I’m not authorized to take stuff off”. She never offered to call a manager. Every other bbq I’ve been to in town (save for one) is better than this place. And I’ve received better service at the local Hardee’s. At least they don’t gaslight NEW customers for not knowing their menu or way of doing things.

Bugs. I counted at least 10 flies I was fighting my food over and two roaches.. The waitress even swiped one of the roaches off the counter. I was able to get a photo of the second.. Food was decent, staff was very friendly. However, I doubt I’ll eat here again due to sanitary concerns.. nothing looked wiped down either. Would of got more pictures, but I was honestly just trying to look past the sticky condiments, counter, and flies. Then, I saw roaches and I was finally fed up… I use to love this place, but now visiting after being gone a while I’m let down.. staff being friendly is the only reason I gave two stars even. Otherwise I would of given zero if I could…big let down, sad to see this place going down hill

I have been thinking about stopping in for the last couple of weeks but been busy and I haven’t been in years so wasn’t sure if it was the same or not. I had the sampler platter with pork, chicken, beef and ribs. It comes with two sides and I chose corn nuggets and fries with cornbread. My mom had 1/2 chicken plate with Brunswick stew and onion rings. Everything was excellent as far as the quality and taste of the meat and sides. The only drawback was having the sauce put on the meat and I’ll remember next time to ask for it on the side. Other than that everything was phenomenal and I will be back. Also our meal came with free peach cobbler.
