Lovely little restaurant. It was a little stuffy on a humid Sunday, but the door was open and there was a decent breeze if you sat near it.

In town for a couple days and someone recommended us to try this place. Boat noodle, papaya salad and grilled pork were delightful and very authentic. Will definitely come back

We loved Jin Thai! We found ourselves walking down Broadway and just let Google tell us where to go. The Chive Crepes were delicious and crispy. Best Satay I’ve had in a long time! And ugh the Fried Rice! I love Thai fried rice and theirs did not disappoint!! Very friendly staff, cute little corner spot. Definitely give it a try!!

First trip to Jin Thai, I’ve been eating in Thai restaurants in and around Chicago as well as all over the world for decades, since the very first restaurant opened in Chicago. I lived in Thailand for two years between 1969-1971. I loved this place, I only had Boating Noodle soup, the beef soup. It was the best I’ve had anywhere. Clean cute restaurant, staff was very friendly, owner arrived while I was there also very friendly. Food and service was great, I’ll return here for sure. What I had was very authentic.

We stopped here at random and were pleasantly surprised. The food is of excellent caliber and perfect plate size for sharing with your significant other. Crab ragoon has real crab meat and perfectly uniform mix throughout (see picture.) Thai basil chicken is amazing and actually spicy, this is a good thing so be prepared! The place is small and has a very “home-y” feel, comfortable for small conversation and sharing a meal. I will definitely be visiting again as well as recommending this place to family and friends.

So the food here is pretty good. Although portions weren’t great and staff was rather rude. The worst part for me was that we were charged 20% gratuity by the restaurant without having any option. Has anyone ever heard of a forced/mandatory gratuity, of course I was going to leave a tip but not after they already charged me 20% on top without the option.

This is a staple of the Edgewater neighborhood and for good reason! Everything dish on the menu is hand crafted and thoughtful with excellent flavor profiles. Chai (sp?) and Jin are wonderful hosts and made sure we had a fantastic experience.

We wandered in here one afternoon and were very pleasantly surprised! The food is affordable, comes out quickly, and is delicious. One of my favorite Tom Yum soups in the city. My friend says the Wonton Soup was also great. We both had chicken Pad Thai and scarfed it down like wolves. I would love to come back and try their other options next time I’m in Edgewater! This place is a gem!
