A neat dining experience in a small homey log cabin way out in the country. Lots of artifacts to look at while waiting on your dinner. Generous portions, but a lot of fried food. They do not take reservations, and I have been told that at times there is a line wrapped around the building waiting on a table. We went at opening time a ddid not have to wait at all. Important: check or cash only for payment. The owners know and greet their regular customers and are very kind and considerate to all their customers.

We dined with them (again) 7/27/23. The best ribeye steaks, outside my own, that I’ve ever had. Period. Their huge ribeye will set you back $40 bucks and comes with a side. I always get their fantastic onion rings for my side. Their fried seafood is also good but hard to order it with their steaks being so good. The place opens at 6 pm wed-Sun. And is BYOB. Well worth the ride particularly if you have company to entertain.

Take your meals to go and watch the sunset over the Chattahoochee River! If you can’t get a seat, anyway. This is my favorite restaurant in the South, perhaps the world. The steak and seafood here are amazing. This is an old-school restaurant which is run with passion and in the owners’ own style. You are welcomed onto The Log Cabin property as if you were visiting longtime neighbors; greeted by sweet dogs, saying hello to other guests, friendly staff, and a classic setting. They have limited days and hours, and the quality is very high as a result. This is the way that all small businesses should be. A friend grew up in the area and recommended The Log Cabin to me. I was returning to Fort Rucker from Tallahassee and decided to stop at The Log Cabin. The drive and the restaurant were perfect. I miss the Adirondack Mountains, and this restaurant has that country and outdoor atmosphere of the ADK’s. Beware- the wait times are very long and they do not accept credit cards – but if you face a wait, a scenic overview of the river is just two minutes down the road. It’s perfect.

Fantastic food, atmosphere and……food. This restaurant has been going strong since 1961 and should be a state historic site. Family owned and operated. Just make sure that you bring cash or check as there is no internet to run your card. One of the best hamburger steaks around. Seafood platter that is a mountain. Loaded hamburger is all you’ll ever need. Go check them out. You will need to wait to be seated but that’s the fun of the place.

WORTH THE LONG WAIT!! They do only accept cash or check so be prepared. Sirloin was easily 4 lbs of meat and perfectly cooked and tender.
