This local favorite has been at the Oceanfront since 1969. As a local legend full of rich history in taking care of guests, both local and abroad alike, there was too much history for this traditional style breakfast favorite to disappear. Acquired in 2024, a new Virginia Beach owner, who grew up in New Orleans, LA, now brings a deep southern country touch to make this brunch restaurant stand out from the competition. With a delicious menu and a made-fresh daily buffet hosting multiple owner recipes, including a complimented bar full of tasteful mimosas, flights, and cocktails served with the best hospitality you can find on the east coast, you don’t want to pass up a chance to meet us. Come on down and try us out!

We loved our breakfast here! They were able to seat our group quickly on a weekend morning. Our server Sylvia was so sweet and kind and was an excellent server. The prices were very affordable and the food was delicious. The staff checked on us and if we were enjoying our meal and wished us well when we left. We enjoyed our time here and would come again.

Good Service, Decent Buffet, But Nothing Memorable

We recently visited Log Cabin Pancake House and had a pretty average experience overall. We opted for the breakfast buffet, which had a good variety of options — pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit, and a few other staples. Everything was fresh and replenished regularly, but unfortunately, nothing really stood out in terms of flavor or quality. It felt like standard fare without any dishes that made us want to go back for seconds.

What did stand out, however, was the service — our server was very attentive, friendly, and quick to clear plates and check on drinks. The staff overall seemed well-organized and efficient, which helped make the experience more pleasant.

The restaurant has a charming, rustic vibe that fits the “log cabin” name, and it’s definitely a popular spot with families and large groups. That said, if you’re looking for a truly memorable breakfast or standout pancakes, this may not be the place. It’s decent for a quick, no-frills breakfast, but we’d likely try somewhere new next time.

They offered a breakfast buffet. It was a bit pricey ($18.99/person + drinks) but it was nice to try all the foods and eat what you want.

When I first went to the buffet several plates were dirty which was a bit off-putting. I got a clean plate and got some food and food was okay. The eggs and bacon were good. Grits were flavorful.

This place was just okay.

The atmosphere is calm and friendly; the hostesses are quick to get customers to a table, at our booth an exhausted waitress greeted us and recommended the buffet ($19/per person.), the seating was uncomfortable, the tables were sticky, there were dead potted plants in the windows, and even though the service was a usual pace the food was pretty unsensational and bland (a bit reminiscent of a hospital cafe).

I probably wouldn’t go back, but for a quick breakfast before hitting the boardwalk it did the trick this time.

Overall, it’s not bad. Think ordered food is going to be better than the buffet. We had both. My daughter and I got the buffet, and my wife, son, ordered a pioneer and log cabin. The wife also got a side of home fries and a cherry bomb mimosa. Total before tip $98.42, hearty price for a family of 4 for breakfast, my opinion. Buffet had a lot, but nothing overly stood out. Ordered food, they were happy with. Large fluffy pancakes and large eggs. We had about a 10-minute wait to sit, but after that, there was a huge line outside. They ran out of plates multiple times for the buffet. People were standing in line for 10+ mins waiting for just plates. Staff was friendly but disappeared for long times. Asked for some hot sauce and took a while to get it. The ketchup tasted like spaghetti sauce to me, actually thought it ruined my potatoes. Says Hunts on the bottle, but I don’t think it is. I am not a ketchup snob at all, but it just didnt taste good. If you’re in the area, there are much worse places you could go to. Unless you’re starving, order off the menu.

Went here for the first time for breakfast at lunch time. Surprised it wasn’t more busy even though it’s early October. Very nice experience. I had the senior buffet and my wife had pancakes off the menu. The food was excellent, as well as the service. The coffee was hot and fresh.

Stopped here for breakfast as it looked cute from the outside. The food was excellent, I had the French toast with a side of bacon. The staff was super friendly and overall I enjoyed my meal. They do also offer a breakfast buffet which also looked amazing. Definitely would go here again

This was a great spot to grab brunch. Breakfast was amazing; Buffet style if you are into that. The service was wonderful and friendly, enough seating for the entire family, and had parking (which is rare) on site.

Right off the boardwalk so great location. I would definitely recommend stopping here this season before they pick up in business; the line is normally around the corner.

Recommendations: Buffet, Mimosas, Coffee
