Log Cabin Pancake House: Coastal Comfort Food Awaits
Reviews
Good Service, Decent Buffet, But Nothing Memorable
We recently visited Log Cabin Pancake House and had a pretty average experience overall. We opted for the breakfast buffet, which had a good variety of options — pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit, and a few other staples. Everything was fresh and replenished regularly, but unfortunately, nothing really stood out in terms of flavor or quality. It felt like standard fare without any dishes that made us want to go back for seconds.
What did stand out, however, was the service — our server was very attentive, friendly, and quick to clear plates and check on drinks. The staff overall seemed well-organized and efficient, which helped make the experience more pleasant.
The restaurant has a charming, rustic vibe that fits the “log cabin” name, and it’s definitely a popular spot with families and large groups. That said, if you’re looking for a truly memorable breakfast or standout pancakes, this may not be the place. It’s decent for a quick, no-frills breakfast, but we’d likely try somewhere new next time.
When I first went to the buffet several plates were dirty which was a bit off-putting. I got a clean plate and got some food and food was okay. The eggs and bacon were good. Grits were flavorful.
The atmosphere is calm and friendly; the hostesses are quick to get customers to a table, at our booth an exhausted waitress greeted us and recommended the buffet ($19/per person.), the seating was uncomfortable, the tables were sticky, there were dead potted plants in the windows, and even though the service was a usual pace the food was pretty unsensational and bland (a bit reminiscent of a hospital cafe).
I probably wouldn’t go back, but for a quick breakfast before hitting the boardwalk it did the trick this time.
Right off the boardwalk so great location. I would definitely recommend stopping here this season before they pick up in business; the line is normally around the corner.
