I know they jusy opened and are working out the kinks and we did have a group of 8. Food and drinks were excellent and nice atmosphere. Service was slow and we did have an issue (one of our party did not get their entree) my problem was that despite bringing it to the server’s attention there was zero urgency to fix the problem and as everyone else was finishing their meals (20 minutes later)when it finally arrived. Difficult entree maybe takes that long but it was soup and a grilled cheese. We will give them another chance but only one more

Fantastic addition to the downtown Garland square!! Went this evening while they are soft opened and everything was amazing but the hospitality is bar none! We were welcomed by the staff, had a super friendly waitress and the manager stopped by and chatted with us! As comfortable as we are at home, but feels like an elevated dining experience! Lockwood and Downtown Garland is awesome!!!!

Great food, great service, and great atmosphere! I tried the truffle shuffle tots, house pastrami, and had a couple of glasses of wine. Excluding appetizers and assuming 1 drink for each party member, expect to spend about ~$30-$40 per person. Possibly less if you’re just there for a drink or two (no food), but of course it slightly varies.
Max and Codi were great waitresses and made me feel very welcome during my first time here. I’ll definitely be coming back! 🙂

So we were looking for somewhere downtown to get dinner for the family tonight and saw that Lockwood was open, so why not try it. We really do like to try new places and find new spots to eat.
Parking was not bad. We found a decent spot to park but even if you cant, its downtown so you really cant complain about parking or blame them for that.
when we got in we were greeted pretty quickly and seated which i would have expected ad been disappointed otherwise because they were really not that busy.
Once we were seated this is basically where we as a family stopped enjoying the experience. We got the menus and honestly should have just gotten up and saved the money. We looked and couldn’t really decide on an appetizer so we went with the tots. They were undercooked so we ate like 5 of them and then didn’t touch them.
My son got the kids slider meal. In the description it did not say what all it came with but the rest of the menu was very descriptive so we went with it was going to be a basic slider since it said patty and cheese. Plus you would think for a child……. you wouldn’t want a ton of weird stuff on it. When his food came we found that it was not a basic slider at all. And he wouldn’t touch it. Between the sauteed onions, pickle, lettuce, tomato, cheese and sauces there was a bland looking patty that almost appeared to be white in color. He isn’t a terribly picky eater but saw that and took maybe 1 bite and the no more. We tried to remove everything off of it and that’s when we found that there was way more on there then we realized. If it had been for me i would have been ok with the extras but the Patty on it would have scared me. It reminded me of one of those patties that you find on a frozen burger you get at a gas station that you question your life choices after putting it in the microwave to cook it.
My wife went with the safer option and got the chicken sandwich. At which point she asked for no pickles or tomatoes. When it came it appeared to be normal and she checked it of course for the things she didn’t want since you know….. she asked for them not to be on it. And of course as i expected it had everything on it. She removed everything from it that she didn’t want and then ate some of it. The chicken was overcooked by a lot and she didn’t eat much. We went ahead and took it home though because we figured the dogs will enjoy it. They aren’t as picky eaters. We didn’t take the sliders though, don’t want the dogs to get sick.
I decided i didn’t want to eat anything and avoid the whole fiasco so i didn’t bother ordering. I knew right away it would be bad when they didn’t have tea and the drinks were from a can. So as far as my food goes i cant really complain because everything i ate for dinner was delicious. Of course it was prepared at Texas Roadhouse because that’s where i ended up eating after buying dinner here.
As far as the environment of the restaurant it was very loud and there was a table not far from us who don’t understand that in public they should have some respect for the people around them. It instantly killed the mood and was just aggravating at the least. I would hope that on a normal night maybe it wouldn’t be like this but on a Saturday at 830p you would think it would be a great place to eat.
Our waitress was mid at best. She was super pushy at first and then she was a ghost. By the time we got our food we were ready to go but she couldn’t be found to give me my check. When she finally realized i wanted to pay since i was making it very not obvious, she spent 5 min explaining to the table next to us that they close at 10 and where those patrons could go to continue drinking until their little extremely loud alcohol soaked hearts were content.
normally i would say that we would wait a couple months and try them again but normally its like 1 thing that may have been bad. Honestly don’t think that we will bother.

I’m rooting for this place to become a Garland downtown staple. The food and drinks were excellent, but we had significant issues with the service.
We went for dinner on a Friday night, and expected things to be swamped. After a very reasonable wait for a table, we ordered appetizers, food, and drinks all at once. From then, we waited 45 minutes for our draft cocktails despite checking in with our server multiple times. Patrons at the bar went through multiple rounds in this time. Once food was delivered, our server was surprised to learn I had also ordered a sandwich despite writing down my order nearly an hour earlier. It was delivered promptly once the order actually made it to the kitchen.
Food and drinks were top notch, but this location still needs to hit their stride on service.

Highly recommend Lockwood Distilling Company! Checked out this local spot during their soft opening this weekend. Despite it being a soft opening, I was very happy to find the lively and fun atmosphere! The staff, although everyone was new, were very friendly. My girlfriends and I stayed for a few hours for lunch and drinks! I highly recommend the pastrami sandwich and my new favorite cocktail, “The Sean”- jalapeño infused hibiscus vodka- amazing! They even accommodated my friend who is pregnant with a beautiful and festive “mocktail”. You must try the truffle tater tots! Could have ordered 3 more rounds. Will be back again soon!
