When Locals was suggested, I was taken aback at the idea of a sushi sports pub. However, it works!y date and I sat outside and enjoyed sports while eating the best sushi and seaweed salad. My date enjoyed a very large sake and I appreciated the non alcoholic options. The bartender was very polite and knowledgeable. I’m looking forward to trying it again

Service was quick and the sushi was the best I’ve had in Charleston! Everything else we order was equally as delicious.

We ate here tonight and left very disappointed. Our waitress was very nice at first. One of the sushi rolls we ordered was fine. The problem was with the second roll, which was supposed to have tuna. We noticed it didn’t have any tuna but we were hungry so we started eating. When the waitress came by to check on us, we politely asked about it. Her attitude changed right away and she asked, “How do you know it didn’t have tuna?” We showed her the two pieces we hadn’t eaten, which clearly had no tuna. She said she would get the manager. When he came over, we immediately told him we were not asking for a discount. We had eaten the roll and were going to pay for it. We just wanted to understand what we had been served. He told us it was the correct roll and ended the conversation. A few minutes later he came back and said he had confirmed with the chef that it did contain tuna. We said okay, but honestly we felt dismissed. We later pulled apart the last two pieces ourselves and there was absolutely no tuna — just krab, avocado, jalapeños, and cream cheese. We had also asked to substitute cucumber for avocado, and that wasn’t done, but we didn’t bother bringing it up. I also ordered a “Pain Reliever” cocktail that was supposed to include two kinds of rum. I rarely drink. One glass of wine usually makes me tipsy. I felt nothing after finishing this drink. I strongly suspect there was very little if any rum in it. What may have been a simple mistake turned into a disappointing experience. There are a lot of great restaurants in Charleston and there is no reason for us to ever go back to this one.

We come here often for happy hour. We love Amy, we just know she’s going to provide amazing service. We came here impromptu on valentine’s day after plans falling through. We seated at the outdoor bar (which was heated and super comfortable). Phil was our bartender and just again amazing service. Super knowledgeable on the menu and even with several tables we never went without a full water or belly. There are several other wonderful aspects to this place but the staff is consistent incredible.

We came here for what was supposed to be a victory sushi meal after escaping an escape room nearby — sort of our little celebration dinner. We did a quick search for sushi spots and this one came up, but when we arrived we were surprised to find it was more of a sports pub than a sushi restaurant. That’s on us for not checking more carefully, but once we were there, we decided to stay and try the food.
Looking at the menu, we skipped the sushi entirely (we just couldn’t bring ourselves to take the risk in a bar setting) and went with pub food — a burger (ordered medium-well) with tater tots and chicken tenders with fries. Unfortunately, this is where the experience really went downhill.
The burger came out very well done, completely dry, and had no seasoning whatsoever. The tater tots were greasy, under-seasoned, and unappetizing. The chicken tenders were bland and didn’t have any flavor to them, which made the overcooked fries even more disappointing. We usually rate and discuss our food like amateur critics while eating, and we both agreed this meal was actually worse than Wendy’s pre-COVID quality — and that says a lot.
The only positive here was the service. Our waitress was quick and friendly, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food quality just didn’t match the price point. We ended up spending more money here for a disappointing pub meal than we did at Church and Union, which was a far superior experience.
Overall, this was a miss for us. Can’t speak for the sushi since we didn’t try it, but based on what we did eat, we would not come back.

We love Stein!! We come every week for half off Tuesdays and he’s the best. CJ is the fastest food runner around, I blink and my food is there. #bookclub

Everyone and everything was awesome. Food was amazing, we got sushi, burgers and fries, and mozzarella sticks. A specialty sushi roll and two alcohol beverages for under $35. Amazing food for a good price. Service was above and beyond. I believe we had Connor as our waiter, and Phil was the manager. Didn’t get the bartenders name but all around amazing. Couldn’t think of a a complaint if I tried

Came in last night (11/21/2025) after my kids’ music performance, and the experience was amazing. The sushi was phenomenal, and my kids really enjoyed their meals. The band playing at the restaurant was great and added to the atmosphere. Our server, Madalyn, was wonderful—she made us feel comfortable right away, explained the menu clearly, helped us choose confidently, and even gave us a few laughs. Overall, a fantastic visit. Easy 10/10. Highly recommend!

Very clean and cool on a hot summer day. Our server was Cotton and he was so kind. I had the mango roll and pepper tuna both of which I really enjoyed and would get again. I am excited to watch a sports match here and try some of their other unique items.

Madelen and Lexie were absolutely amazing hosts — super welcoming, attentive, and genuinely fun to interact with. They set the tone for a great night out. The half-off sushi and drinks were an awesome surprise and honestly made the whole experience even better. The sushi was fresh and delicious, and the drink specials were unbeatable.
If you’re looking for a place with great vibes, great service, and great deals, this is definitely it! Highly recommend.
