A hidden gem in downtown Painesville. The food is always delicious and fresh. The lobster bisque soup is one the very best we’ve ever had! It’s cozy in the winter and chill in the summer sitting outside on the patio. Always a great choice!

Small, but good atmosphere, good food. Terrific place for lunch. Menu focused on fish and the salmon we had was some of the best we’ve had. FishBLT was very tasty. Good beer and cocktail list also.

Although just a tad pricey, the food is quite good. I really liked the jambalaya. We also had shroom fries which were quite good though I would put maybe cheddar curds vs fresh mozzarella and more mushrooms. The fish sandwich as well as chicken were huge. The large BLT wasn’t all that large in comparison. The thai slaw was also quite good. Being there was odd as I used to hang out at Chester’s decades ago and there is very little left of the original bar. I did feel it though and it felt comfortable. The staff was so friendly and seemed much more genuinely happy to be there than most places. I recommend giving them a try.

I used to be a big fan of this place since they first opened. Then they slowly started elimating items from the menu. First the cheddar biscuits, then the grilled romaine salad. Now you can no longer order any kind of fish tacos whatsoever. That was a real bummer, as they had some of the best in town.
They still do serve the tomato bisque, which is always top notch. And their perch dinner was tasty. But, I see this place on the decline…like, I’m not anticipating going back there for a long time. Sure, the service was friendly and prompt. The food was just okay this time around. I think I’ll be going to other seafood restaurants in the area from now on.

Awesome food and a very cool atmosphere, our server was amazing *shout out* to Erin! Will definitely go back even though it’s an hour away!

There was four in our party and there were so many things on the menu we all wanted to try we each got something different and shared. It was all wonderful from the shroom fry appetizer to the omg dessert. The server was terrific and the place was very neat and clean even down to the restrooms.

Nice space and the tuna melt is the bomb. Lacking an experienced bartender on certain days though… and depending on who’s manning the jukebox you may end up in a horrible country music mix, which is horrible!
Update: yet another poor experience. Evidently chowder is milk with a splash of clam juice and some diced potatoes…
