We visited this place a little while ago and it was a pretty solid seafood restaurant! I can imagine this would be the perfect spot to head to lunch when you’re out boating on the lake in summer and want to take a quick break. It’s located right in the downtown area of Weirs Beach – look for the big “Weathervane” sign, you can’t miss it! We came as a big group and still got seated quickly, serviced well, and our food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. Sometimes places take forever with big groups – not this one, so it seems they definitely are prepared for it!
We got a variety of different things from the menu (I don’t have pictures of everything) including the fried whole clams, Caesar salad with grilled shrimp, clam chowder, fried fish tacos, chicken tenders, fried haddock sandwich, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, and a bacon cheeseburger! as expected, the seafood was the best part, though no one was disappointed with what they got. The general consensus for us was: the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp was excellent (shrimp were fresh and had great flavor), all the friend seafood dishes were good (not the best we’ve ever had but still quite solid), chicken tenders were pretty average, mozzarella sticks were great, clam chowder was excellent, burger was pretty average as well, and onion rings were great. I don’t think you’re going to be “wowed” by anything at this restaurant, but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by anything either – unless, perhaps, you get one of the most expensive items and expect more than what you get.
I do recommend this place though! Check it out, get some fried stuff, and indulge at a classic seafood outpost that defines this region of the US!

We beat the lunch rush..it filled up pretty quickly after 11:30 AM on a Tuesday. The swordfish sandwich was amazing. I could barely finish…3 healthy pieces of fish on a big bun. Will definitely revisit if we find ourselves in Boston again.

Stopped for lunch on our way home from the White Mountains. Two of us split the Fried Seafood Platter. Food was good, drinks (berry margarita) were good too! Would visit again next time we’re in the area.

We came in for lunch and the place was absolutely empty, which the staff explained was because it’s the end of the season. They mentioned we were actually their first table of the day at 2 pm! I was surprised they’re still open! Despite that, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. The food was pricey but delicious, and everything came out quickly. (It’s seafood of course it’s pricey!) The restaurant itself was also very clean, I had seen some reviews saying it was dirty, but I honestly didn’t notice anything like that at all. There was no trash on the ground and everything was spotless! Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d happily come back. Thank you for an awesome lunch!

This place seems like a hidden gem and my 5 star review may be a bit of an overrating as I haven’t explored the other options in Weirs Beach for seafood. However, based on my dinner meal with my daughter, we split a bowl of clam chowder and both ordered the haddock sandwich with house chips. Everything was perfect.
The chowder is thick, but not too thick with flour. Great ratio of clams, potatoes, celery and onions. The haddock sandwich was perfectly prepared with a toasted bun, a nice piece of haddock perfectly fried, fresh tomato slice (you have to ask for it) nicely shredded lettuce and a tangy tarter sauce.
We ate outside and our server could not have been any nicer. What a great experience and I’d highly recommend it. Very reasonable prices too as the bowl of chowder was $10.99 (served two of us) and $16.99 for the sandwich.

I grew up in New Hampshire and this place is an embarrassment to New Hampshire. It’s a very casual looking place and not that clean. (Sticky tables and glasses) It was pretty empty when we got there. We ordered two steamers and one fried clams. It said market prices so I didn’t think to ask (my bad) how much these would be. I saw clams at the store for $10 a lb so how pricey could they be? Much to my surprise the fried clams were over $45 and the steamers were over $40 each! I couldn’t believe it! That was the biggest ripoff of any restaurant I have been to in my life. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s not a 5 star restaurant and it shouldn’t be charging 5 star prices. Save your money folks!

Not sure about this place. Came specifically for their signature drink, the Shrimpy Mary. They were out of Bloody Mary mix at 1 in the afternoon. Had the hot dogs, nothing special but asked for onions. I had to dice the onions myself.

We visited this restaurant on our first night in Laconia. When we arrived we were seated right away upstairs with a great view of the lake out the window.
We sat at our table for 20 minutes and no one came to greet us. After waiting another 5 minutes I had to flag another waiter down to ask where ours was. After another 5 minutes our waitress finally showed up to take our orders, she didn’t apologize or acknowledge the fact that we’d been waiting for almost 30 minutes at this point.
We got an appetizer, a lobster roll, and shrimp tacos along with draft beers. The food was pretty awful in all honesty. It was all fried and wasn’t tasty at all. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Vladimir was super nice and welcoming. My husband said his haddock was the best fried haddock he has ever had. I got the oysters and they were very good. Very friendly service

We had a great experience at Lobster in the Rough. It was a classic New England sea food experience. My husband got the fried clam strips with fries and I got a salad with chicken (yes, i know, not sea food ). Our server was attentive and prompt. The menu had the perfect selection of well-priced sea food ( and non sea food) options. There were lots of cute looking drink options to choose from as well!
