We were greeted with Aloha coming in for lunch. The employees were friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Very fullfilling plates. The food was made to order. The food was fresh, fast, juicy, and tasty. We were the only ones eating inside for lunch on a Friday, while there was a lot of takeout. The food was very reminiscent of my trips to Hawaii. Their Hawaiian decor is fun. Tho the tables are sticky. Maybe it’s the wood varnish degrading? Also, half the soda fountain was out of order. I would come back.

Menu changed? No more BBQ Mix? Management? Not sure, but quality and quantity changed a lot. Very small portion for the rice bowls which costs more than $10 if you include tax and tip. Beef was like jerky not like before that was tasty and juicy. This time, they were dry, dark, tiny pieces, and very sweet. Ramen noodles were soggy, bland soup, but at least, the chicken katsu was okay. Mixed veggies on the rice bowls were watered down like sponges filled with water maybe the veggies were soaking in the pan filled with water. Too expensive for small portions and the food was not good at all. Service is quicker compared to the old L&L though. I hope C&C is still around because they were as good as the old L&L.

Always delicious and you get huge portions! I love their barbeque chicken, tossed salad (and house dressing), and macaroni salad. You can easily make two meals out of one order. Staff are courteous and helpful.

Super cool spot to get some awesome Hawaiian food that’s pretty hard to find in this area. Learned it was a chain afterward, although it doesn’t seem like a big chain – it’s just got all the best benefits with a well developed menu, very efficient, and high quality. Never had Hawaiian food before, and this was super great. So many options that I can’t wait to come back and try next time!

I was really disappointed with the loco moco I had here. It was way too salty—almost inedible, honestly. The seasoning completely overpowered the dish, making it hard to enjoy. On top of that, there was way too much rice! It felt like I was eating a mountain of rice with a small amount of the actual loco moco.

As for the BBQ mix, I was really let down by the galbi ribs and steak here. Both were incredibly tough and hard to chew, which made the whole meal unpleasant. The meat was chewy to the point where it felt like a chore just to get through it. For the price, I expected much better quality. Again, there is too much rice. Definitely won’t be ordering these again. The chicken from this meal was good, though.

I was really disappointed with the mac salad. The texture was off, and it completely drowned out the flavors. I was expecting a creamy, well-balanced side, but this was a letdown like the one I had in Hawaii.

However, the katsu chicken and spam musubi here are okay. It’s the perfect snack or side dish, and I could honestly eat them all day.

The drinks were overpriced, and you could get it for cheap with a good serving size elsewhere. My husband and I did not like it, though.

The staff was polite and friendly.

This is our first time here! We’ve heard about them in the Virginian Pilot and we have been so excited to give them a try ever since. We were not disappointed!

The Loco Moco is a dish served with 2 hamburger patties topped with 2 runny eggs and drenched in a brown gravy with a side of mac salad. It had the same hearty, delicious taste that I remember from the islands. I have to say, I just love the combination of the warm, tasty gravy with rice with a runny egg and a piece of hamburger patty and the cool mac salad combination, it really is a perfect bite. The traditional barbecue platter had a sampling of all the barbecue selections, and it too was amazing. The saimin was perfect, and it easily warmed me up. Lastly, we also had the musubi trio, which had a spam, fried chicken, and barbecue chicken versions, and all three were awesome, I think I could have just this and be completely satisfied. One thing to note is that they only serve kalua pork on Fridays and Saturdays, so we weren’t able to try it on this visit. The menu is pretty big so we have to go multiple times to try everything.

Overall, it exceeded my expectations! The food very much brought me back to the meals we’ve had in Hawaii. If you’re a fan of places like Zippy’s, you’ll likely enjoy the food here too. The staff was friendly and practiced CDC recommendations during this ongoing pandemic. If you do order in person, expect a little 15 minute wait because everything is made to order. But trust me, it is worth it.

I would NOT recommend visiting this place. I placed an online order 30 minutes in advance and still had to wait an additional 30 minutes to receive my order, which was cold upon arrival. The servings were skimped, and they left out an entire entree of mine.

To make matters worse, my entire family, including my dog, got sick after consuming the food. It felt like $70 went straight into the trash. I’ve called twice now and was promised a callback, but it’s been 6 days, and I still haven’t received any response. This place is utterly disappointing and an insult to the culture it represents.

The city health inspector needs to shut this place down.
Avoid it at all costs

I’m not sure if this a regular thing here but I’m from out of state and the L&L at the other locations I’ve been at, is definitely not this. This is supposed to be a bbq chicken bowl with veggies and a side of mac salad. The veggies were like mush, and it looks like I got the days end of the chicken that was on the grill, mind you I went at 1230pm. The Mac salad was bland, something that’s never happened before either. The table was sticky, like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. Horrible experience.

The food was extremely fresh and delicious! The chicken katsu was crispy and flavorful, with just the right amount of breading. My spam musubi always a banger! Love this place. ❤️

This place is good. Walking in the space is larger than expected. Staff was very friendly and it is easy to see what they offer. It did take about 25 minutes to receive our order so I recommend ordering a drink while you wait.

We ordered the chicken katsu curry, bbq chicken and the spam sushi. All of the meats were cooked very well and were extremely tasty. The curry and bbq sauce however was pretty basic. I think both sauces could be improved to make this a great place. Also the cost of the food is very good as the portions of food we received was excellent!

Socially distanced restaurant with some indoor and outdoor seats.
