Opening in 2006, Liv’s Oyster Bar quickly became a dining destination in Old Saybrook. Inspired by his daughter, Olivia, and years of experience in the restaurant industry, owner John Brescio set out with a desire to welcome the community to his family’s table. We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience here. We got there about 8:30 on a Friday night and they were busy, but we managed to sit at the bar near the shucker station. The bartender, the shucker, and all the staff were absolutely fantastic. The oysters, little necks, tuna tartare, and the entrees were delicious and out of this world. I can’t believe we don’t eat here more often. We will definitely be back in the near future. I 100% recommend this restaurant.

Liv’s is hands down our favorite restaurant in the area! Exceptional food, craft cocktails, and an amazing raw bar. Service is great and it’s become our go to spot when visiting our father who moved here in January. Highly recommend.

Best food experience I have had in a while. The duck! OMG, the duck. The happy hour specials are a great draw. The Oysters were wonderful. Did I mention the duck? Our waiter, Jake, really added to the experience as well. He gets his own 5 stars. They even went out of their way to accommodate the vegetarian in our group. The atmosphere was delightful. Well worth the price for a fancier night out. Order the duck:-)

We made it in right at opening for happy hour. AMAZING. The food, the service, the atmosphere, all top notch. I would suggest reservations if you go around dinner time, because by the time we left they place was really filling up. Highly recommend.
