My family and I loved the food here. Stellar customer service if anything. Thanks Jiya! Btw, all of their waitresses tonight were really kind to the customers.
The kitchen was having a problem tonight but it’s better than waiting an hour and 30 mins at Katies. My family and I usually eat at Katies for years but we were so hungry that we decided to try Liuzza’s! And Im so glad we tried the food. The cream of mushroom soup and shrimp po-boy was really good. It was cooked properly and our meals were warm.
We are patient customers and our waitress, Jiya (I hope I spelled her name correctly) made sure we ate something because some of our food were taking a while. We loved her service SO MUCH
Thank you so so much!
PS. Liuzza’s owner/managers/higherups – the servers and the KITCHEN STAFF especially need their raises!!

We love Liuzzas. This one we love for the Frenchalatta. Great warm version served on French style bread of the classic New Orleans Muffelatta sandwich. We also had an Eggplant Napoleon starter, which was fantastic. And the beer served in their giant glass frozen goblets is classic. Service was good as usual.

We ended up here on a Sunday afternooon after terrible service up the street. We just stumbled on Liuzzas. What a treat. Sat right down. Great atmosphere. Service was very attentive(Finley). Lemoncello sprintzer made me wanna be in Italy. We had the eggplant medallions. Veal. The greens were criminal they were so good. Will definitely be back for another dish.

Say what you want about fancy restaurants in NOLA, this long appreciated neighborhood eatery is just plain good food and good times. We arrived, got a table, and were immediately told the kitchen was closing soon so order quickly. Our first thought was this may be a disaster but our waitress (obviously the alpha server) still attended to our every need and made sure the kitchen gave us great food. They are known for the big goblets of beer and onion rings. But the muffaletta was work of art, the Poboy delicious and the red beans and rice were great.

This was our first trip to Louisiana, and we had heard a lot about the local cuisine. We followed the rule of visiting a new restaurant every day and always trying new dishes. Everything was delicious. But we returned to this particular place a second time specifically for the Louisiana-style burger – it was simply amazing!

Absolutely delish food and welcoming vibe.
Cocktails are generous, well-made, and not over-priced.
We ate outside: the front patio is fantastic, and since that part of Bienville is not jam packed with traffic, it’s peaceful and sans auto fumes. Huge oaks offer additional shade and the tables are comfy. The bar looks cozy, dark, and beckoning. I can’t wait to return for Happy Hour. They even said my dog was welcome in the bar too, so I’ll be back!
Drank authentic French 75 and Bellini. Ate Fried Catfish Platter with red beans and salad. Damn that’s some good catfish; fried just right: juicy, crisp breading, not overdone or dry. Red beans aren’t bad either.
Prompt, attentive service, without being overbearing.
Really loved this “hidden” local spot and will definitely be back!

We sat outside because of the dog so maybe it was our own fault but the service was slow even tho the restaurant was empty. I got the clam linguini special and it was just okay. I did try my friend’s roast beef poboy/fries and was delish, so maybe stick with what they’re already good at

You get exactly what you expect from a place like this. The three of us went there for lunch and had red beans and rice, fried green tomatoes and chicken and sausage gumbo, onion rings piled, high sautéed spinach, and iced tea to wash it all down.
The staff was super friendly and attentive, even when we changed our minds after placing the order never was it problem to adjust and bring what we were looking for. Our food was prepared promptly. The red beans were some of the creamiest I’ve had in a long time. The gumbo was super flavorful and that was followed up with the fried green tomatoes and onion rings. Well, they were just really great.
When it came to getting the bill, there was none of this pretentious “We’ve added 20% tip already”. I’m sick and tired of these forced additions to my bill even before I’ve had a look at my meal or even a cup of coffee. I’m all for paying an honest wage to serving staff and the kitchen. I do want restaurants to be honest with their clients and deliver them experience they desire.
Liuzza’s it’s just what you expect and a little bit more. There’s nothing overly fancy here honest people serving honest food and treating their patrons kindly. All at a fair price I have to give five stars. Some might say this isn’t a 5-star place and I can understand that. For me it delivered exactly what I expected and wanted and just a little bit more.
We need more places like this.

Super friendly and prompt staff.
Place is a bit unassuming, so I wasn’t expecting much, but I was absolutely blown away by my Veal Alfredo. Some of the best breading on the cutlet I’ve had.
Loved mopping everything up with their delicious garlic bread, which is cut into a bunch of small shareable portions.
Definitely would like to come try some more of the menu in the future!

Prior to this visit, Liuzza’s was a requirement when visiting from Texas and I HAD to get the Chicken Parmesan with the red gravy (with meat stock)–it was amazingly tasty and unique. Even though the menu and web site still state that “Our gravy contains beef stock”, it is no longer made that way and to say I was very disappointed is a major understatement. Not only was the sauce poor, the chicken was tough, tasteless and seem to be of low quality. The high point of our visit was our waitress Kristin–she was attentive, personable and caring and quickly realized that I was very unhappy with my meal. I got pizza instead, which was okay. At least the Bushwacker was back and it didn’t disappoint. This place is ‘off my list’ of must-visit restaurants when traveling to New Orleans. We drove this time and I was planning to buy a bunch of the red gravy (with meat stock) and share it with my Texas friends. It’s a shame that the new owners changed the menu and seem to lower the quality of food. The good restaurant, that was an institution is dead
