We had a wonderful stay at The Little Whitefish Resort and Cafe in Garrison, MN. The hosts, Brian Limborg and Lyndi Limborg, have something special at this cozy rustic resort. It is a family run business whose employees seem like family as well.
We are a family of six and had a perfect cabin that fit our family’s needs. Our kids enjoyed paddle boarding and kayaking. We weren’t able to go fishing this time. When we come back we will rent one of their three pontoons.
The cafe did not disappoint. We ate delicious homemade food and they also had some yummy chicken wings and other appetizers. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with daily specials. We never left hungry.
The bar was well stocked and we enjoyed the good drinks and conversation!
Thanks for the great weekend!

The best pancake I’ve ever had, no joke. Cute little place, right on the lake. Gotta stop in and try the food. You won’t regret it!

Great place to stay. Brian and lyndi were very friendly and great hosts. We didnt have chance to eat at the cafe, but was told by other customers the food was excellent. The fishing and the weather wasn’t the greatest during our stay but we caught enough for a fish fry and the kids had a great time. Hope to visit again next year.

This cafe has the most PHENOMENAL food!!!! Their Apple Fritter French Toast and Stuffed Hash-browns with Sausage Gravy were to die for!!! The French Toast was perfectly toasted and equally fluffy, topped with the most perfect apples!! And the Hash-browns were fantastically delicious!!! We shall most definitely be coming back, even if it’s driving the two hours into town to have this breakfast again!!!

Fun place. Super nice owners and a great breakfast. Lunch time started shortly after we arrived and the lunch food looked very good. We will be going back sometime soon to have a lunch. We live nearby so we were not campers but the cabins looked nice. Seemed to be of various ages, even the older ones looked perfectly fine. Not a Rutgers Baylake Lodge but I wouldn’t want to go there if it was. Good luck to the new owners.

A very pleasant experience… Brian and Lyndi were very cordial hosts…
We enjoyed learning the history of the resort and lake.
The food was delicious… Especially the fries…. Crispy and HOT…. “Home made” burgers were thick and juicy…. Our menus were shyly presented by their 4 year old daughter…. So SWEET!!!
This young family recently purchased the 1950’s style resort and are just beginning to “test the waters” to see what will be most appreciated by their future guests.
The resort and cafe will be open again in the Spring after the new owners have an opportunity to put their own style into their new venture.
The resort and cafe have a lot of potential for becoming a special destination for other families…
We looking forward to following their progress as they make their Dream come true….

Lindy & Brian were super accommodating, the cabin was rustic but adorable and cozy with everything we needed. The lake has amazing structure, and we found fish almost everywhere we tried. A very nice visit. Only wish the cafe had been open so we could have tried the food!

The new owners and staff is all super friendly and the food was delicious! The Philly cheesesteak sandwich was so good I had to have it twice . Ask about the history of the lake and the resort itself, they would love to tell you! So fun to learn about.

First time here today, we had breakfast. We had an omelet with perfectly cooked hasbrowns, and cranberry wild rice toast. It was probably the best breakfasts we’ve had around Mille Lacs. My husband and I also each had a piece of Apple fritter French toast. It was delious. Our sever was friendly and attentive. We’ll be back.
