Delightfully unique atmosphere with fantastic service (Justin rocks) and great food. Love the decor and unique plates, cups and different tables. The mushroom soup is good, very much cream base and chunks of 7 different kinds of mushrooms. Loved the Pear/Fig salad with its great flavor profile. We shared the Chicken and Brie entree which was good but not the best I’ve ever had. Definitely worth coming back.

Amazing food and friendly staff. A Little Something Different puts a unique spin on some classics. Located in beautiful downtown Mount Dora, there is plenty of street parking and several lots nearby. A free shuttle is even offered on weekends. Offering indoor and outdoor seating, the restaurant has collaborated with the Tea Exchange across the street to quench your thirst, with a delicious iced tea. Justin is a great server, and take a moment to meet Nikki the owner, who is behind the fresh ideas. The chicken Marsala is delicious, as is the turkey (which uses house roasted whole turkeys). The pulled pork is tender and while I haven’t tried it yet the spaghetti and meatball sandwich is next on my list. Open for lunch Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday they also offer lunch and dinner on the weekends. Recently they celebrated their one year birthday. Treat yourself and go soon!

Wonderful staff and customer service!! Austin was our server and he did a very good job. He was attentive, suggesting menu options, helping with gluten allergy, came to check on us multiple times.
The food was good and a little different. Honestly the potato boat was a bit underwhelming. It was chicken instead of pork bbq since they were out. They did warn us that it would be chicken instead of BBQ pork, but we still wanted to try it. The chicken did not have much flavor and the flavor only came from the drizzled bbq sauce, we had to ask for more bbq sauce.
We also ordered half of the French twist and it was fresh and lots of ingredients and bread was good a little extra blueberry horseradish sauce would have made it tastier.
The strawberry and fig salad was really good and the dressing was great.
The salmon was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were fantastic.
This is a cute place to come with some girlfriends for a meal, the music was not loud and we were able to keep a conversation.

We found this amazing place at our visit over Christmas vacay . We went back again today while visiting friends in Orlando . They were just as impressed as I was at my last visit . The food was so fresh and delicious, both soups were amazing , mushroom and the clam chowder. The sandwiches were so delicious and plentiful. Service top notch and the owner so sweet and attentive to her guest . A hidden gem , with decor so beautifully decorated.

There’s so much I have to say about the experience I had here this past weekend (Saturday, 7/12). It started with the service, the hostess, Bella, so kind and extremely considerate. Then our server, Justin, he was friendly and attentive. He explained everything in detail and didn’t miss a beat. The ambiance, it literally felt like home, it was quiet enough to talk, the staff was engaging and enthusiastic. Now, on to the food – AH-MAZING! My pics and videos don’t do it justice. Hear me out, if you’re in or near Central Florida, visit Mount Dora and have yourself a Little Something Different. You will be so glad you did. We sure are. We will be back. And to you Angie, thank you

I typically go to restaurants on Mondays when they are less busy, add in a holiday and they are usually dead. Honestly, I think it gives you a far better indicator of customer service then on a busy night. I have to say, service was spectacular. The food was also beyond exemplary, though I ate too much. The mushroom soup was creamy, but also had chunks of mushrooms in the bottom, And not just white button. Followed up with the Caesar salad, Drunken Scotsman and took the Basque cheesecake to go. The entree is bigger than the photo lets on. Should have taken more home rather than eating it there. Will have to go back once they launch their breakfast menu and a new summertime hours. They also have outdoor seating that is pet friendly.

Little Something Different absolutely lived up to its name. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted right away and made to feel welcome. Our server, Justin, was beyond friendly, he checked on us several times and even shared great recommendations on things to do in the area, which was such a thoughtful touch.
The food was amazing. The lasagna was huge, hearty, and absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Drunken Scotsman, which was outstanding, so good I genuinely wished I had ordered the larger portion. For dessert, the chocolate truffon was exceptional, and the lemon berry mascarpone was light, fluffy, and perfectly creamy.
Everything from start to finish was fantastic. Great service, incredible food, and a wonderful overall experience. We’ll definitely be back.

My Family decided to try the new restaurant in Mount Dora called Little Something Different and was very happy with the service and food. Everything was delicious. I had the Stop Resisting(giant spaghetti and meatball sub), then my family had the Salmon, The Porker(pulled pork plate) and the Edmund Dantes(Monte Cristo). Service was quick and pleasant. The owner Nikki even went out of her way to make my daughter a special lemonade to try. We would definitely go back to try the other items on the menu.

A Delightful Twist on Tradition!
What a refreshing and memorable dining experience! The pear and fig salad was a surprising highlight—fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced, with just the right touch of sweetness. It set the tone for what followed.
The mushroom soup was a masterpiece in its own right, made with five different kinds of mushrooms, all sourced from local farmers. You could really taste the earthy richness and care in every spoonful. The chef’s approach is a beautiful blend of traditional techniques and creative flair—elevating familiar dishes into something truly special.
Their Cobb salad was another standout—generously portioned, perfectly crisp, and loaded with flavor. And then… the Tiramisu. Hands down the best I’ve ever had! Made with real ladyfinger biscuits and authentic mascarpone cheese—it was creamy, dreamy, and not overly sweet. Absolutely divine.
The little details also made the experience so charming—the cute plates, thoughtful presentation, and cozy yet elegant setup around us. It all felt personal and curated with love. Can’t wait to return!
