I’d like to think i know about Viet food. This is not it. I visited this place in 2016 and recall it was decent Pho.
Today’s is quite the disaster: very skimpy on the herbs, including the Thai basil. Very thick slices of both brisket and rare steaks. Jalapeño never belongs in an Asian dish. Broth was missing something.
I peeked at other dish presentation. I will not be coming back.
You want more authentic: go to Lewiston.
You want most authentic Pho: go to my house.
Service: very typical Chinese dry, get to the point, no smile greeting and serving. Speaking of which: Chinese is spoken in the kitchen.
Atmosphere: the wall at the entrance is a huge deterrent as if they’re trying to hide something.

A hidden gem! Grace, our waitress was amazing. THE BEST POT STICKERS EVER!! I had to come back and give this place the review it deserves. It’s hidden, a tiny plane in the town of Brunswick, Maine. The owner is the chef. She’s wonderful, more on her later. When you walk in, you immediately come to a wall that divides the restaurant seating. You’re met with s sign asking you to wait to be seated. It’s tight, so be prepared for that. The wall decor is a statement. Mixed between wonderful reliefs are blank canvases, inviting you to ponder how everyday, every moment is a new beginning. It’s cozy, and it’s elegant at the same time. When your seated, Grace is so kind and does not rush you. Then you get to order your food, of which there is a decent variety. The menu includes notes on pronunciation. I can not find the words for how welcoming and inclusive this touch is. My very first bite was of a pork pot sticker. Listen, I’ve had plenty of them in my life, and I thought there wouldn’t be much to say here other than comment on temp– pretty generic, right? WRONG! I bit in, the juicyness exploded, my eyes lit up and my soul screamed with joy! You can more than taste the love, thought and care put into these. Not your everyday frozen then cooked I’ve come to expect in restaurants. This was art. This was heart. This was soul food at its best. Even the presentation was on point, and we hadn’t even come to the main entree yet! As for the main entree, it was just a good. Just as real. Beyond expectations. I felt nurtured, body, mind and soul. I got to meet the chef. She is truly, genuinely humble and inspiring. She knows everything there is to know about the food. Where it comes from, how it gets there, and what to use to truly nurture your body, which is what food is meant to do. Nothing is over sauced. You can taste and enjoy each piece placed on your palette. She doesn’t advertise, and she is the only cook. She does this with love. If you’re looking for fresh, immersive meals, this is the place for you. You’ll leave filled, but not in the bloated, gross way. Energized and refreshed. Which is how food should be. Heads up- chopsticks are the standard here. Don’t let that stop you.

If you come here for the ambiance, you are confused. This is the best Vietnamese food in Maine. Possibly in all of New England. It is the Pho you want to order. Come when they are medium busy. The servers are not there to win popularity contests, but they will smile occasionally. Great food. Great team. One of my top 5 restaurants in the nation.

Little Saigon hit the spot! We came in after a long and cold day of skiing, and the house pho could not have been a better call. Food came out quick, and Grace, our server, was extremely warm. Would definitely come back asap!

Food is great! I had the tofu spring rolls and chicken mein soup. Soup was at the right temperature and all my food was served quickly. Music was playing quietly. Service was okay. Hostess was friendly but seemed standoffish. She didn’t ask me if I wanted anything to drink or if I wanted to have dessert. There was a crowd building up at the entrance so she may have wanted my spot to become available ASAP. My water was refreshed, which I appreciated. Reservations accepted. The place is busy on Saturday night so go early. I recommend this restaurant.

Their Vegetable Pho (superb, rich broth) and House Special Bun are fantastic. Also recommend fresh and fried spring rolls, grilled calamari, green papaya salad, and the BBQ mien. My son usually orders their pad thai. Service is brisk, no nonsense.

My first time in Brunswick. I walked into this restaurant and waited 10 minutes. No one cared to acknowledge me or help me get a table here. There’s a sign that says please wait to be seated. The woman saw me a few times but acted like she didn’t want any more customers. The place was busy but more 70% busy than fully packed when I arrived.

A few weeks ago, I was battling a bad cold and craving hot pho. I asked my husband to pick some up on his way home (we live about 20 minutes away). I’d only ever dined in before—never had takeout—but when I opened my order, all the sides were missing: the bean sprouts, herbs, everything. I was so bummed.
I called the restaurant to ask if this was normal for takeout, and the woman I spoke with assured me it wasn’t. She apologized profusely and even offered for me to come pick up the missing sides. Since it was already 6:30 and a 40-minute round trip, I had to pass. Then, without hesitation, she told me my next pho was on the house—just come by whenever.
Fast forward to this week, and once again, I’m under the weather (thanks, pre-k germs). My husband stopped by, and true to their word, they honored their promise. The pho was so good, and honestly, it’s rare to find customer service like this anymore. Small gestures like this make such a difference!

Little Saigon offers a calm and cozy environment, making it a pleasant spot for a casual meal. The waitress was kind and helpful, contributing positively to the overall experience. However, the food itself was somewhat underwhelming. The Phō lacked the depth of flavor one expects from this classic dish and was slightly too salty. Additionally, the absence of both the iced coffee and sweet crispy rice with mango was disappointing, limiting the options for a complete dining experience.

Delicious Vietnamese food that is flavorful and tastes fresh. We ordered shrimp spring roll as an appetizer, and main courses of beef pho, vegetable pho, vegetable bun and friend rice. We were a party of 4 with total bill of $70 (not including tip). Friendly and helpful service. Two thumbs up!
