Little Hen absolutely delivered.
From the moment we sat down, the service stood out—Cheri was fantastic: attentive, friendly, and genuinely made the experience feel welcoming without being overbearing. That kind of service elevates a meal, and she nailed it.

Food-wise, everything was on point. I had the chilaquiles with churrasco and an egg, and it was packed with flavor—the steak was tender, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the richness of the dish. I also tried the LH Burger, which was equally impressive: juicy, balanced, and clearly made with quality ingredients.

A small but appreciated detail: reverse osmosis water—clean, crisp, and a nice touch that shows attention to quality beyond just the food. The coffee was also excellent and a great addition to round out the meal.

Overall, Little Hen combines great food, thoughtful details, and standout service. Big thanks again to Cheri for making it an even better experience. I’ll definitely be back.

The location is great close to other restaurants and the galleria . The restaurant itself is a nice vibe elegant looking with some soft background music. The service was ok for it being a nice looking restaurant I’d think the waitress come to our table and check on us a bit , but never did I couldn’t order more because she only came once we were done . As for the food the chilaquiles and the banana foster French toast were great the French toast was a little on the sweeter side but delicious, the Canadian bacon eggs Benedict sucked the house potatoes need flavor those were bland and the eggs benedict just tasted like nothing the muffin was tough that dish for sure I wouldn’t get again I don’t recommend it . Overall not a bad place to try out . Definitely a nice different vibe The location is great close to other restaurants and the galleria . Some friends talked about this place at a dinner a night before so since I had a bday celebration needing a good place, we came to Little Hen.
What a surprise and a cute place to celebrate our friend!
Fantastic service and delicious food. Ordered an avocado toast and it was perfect. Also we were treated by the Cheff with a spectacular dessert!

Better for a female crowd but incredibly good for brunch/lunch

Such a charming spot — the decor and outdoor garden vibe are absolutely adorable! The drinks were superb, beautifully presented, and tasted just as good as they looked. I ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict, which was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The scone basket was also a standout — soft, warm, and delicious. The buttermilk pancakes were fluffy and buttery, definitely a must-order if you love breakfast sweets.

The truffle fries were tasty and well-seasoned, though the stuffed hash brown was the only item that felt like it needed a little more seasoning or depth of flavor compared to everything else on the table.

Overall, fantastic food, excellent drinks, and such a cute aesthetic. I’d absolutely come back — especially for brunch and their signature drinks!

I stopped by Little Hen today to grab some to-go tea and realized I never wrote a review from my last visit — and it definitely deserves one! A few weeks ago, I brought my 90-year-old grandmother here to celebrate her birthday, and it was absolutely perfect. The restaurant is so elegant and beautifully decorated — every detail feels special and inviting. It’s also the perfect spot for photos — everything from the table settings to the floral touches is picture-perfect! The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel so welcome the entire time we were there. Every dish we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. It was such a lovely experience and the perfect place for tea, brunch, and quality time with loved ones. Little Hen is a true gem in River Oaks — I can’t wait to go back! ✨ ☕️

From the beginning, I would say the walk up is beautiful , those celebrating birthdays get a single fresh rose which I think is so sweet.
However the hostess had somewhat of an attitude and was not warm to say the least.
There is a strict dress code , nothing too risqué, or they will turn you away.
The space itself is pretty small and tight so it makes sense why it’s recommended to get a reservation. We sat outside on the patio which I highly recommend for cute aesthetic pictures, however if temps are cold requested to sit inside as the heaters barely help.
For the starting drinks we got lattes and hot tea which were delicious . We got a large array of food to sample , I samples a bit of some of the rose pancakes , which in flavor were fine but more on the cakey side in texture which I would rate a 7. My friend ordered some Nutella French toast which was yummy but honestly nothing special to them.I ordered the huevos rotos with the truffle fries and ham and honestly it made me sick, the eggs were runny and cold. They were cold and tasted old. The ham on them were tiny bits and I’ve honestly had better fries for a fraction of the cost.
We ordered some cocktails after which for the cost I was skeptical but they were visually pleasing and strong. The flavor itself was lacking in mango and more spicy which I don’t mind.
Towards the end we were asked if there was anything else we wanted because we only had 10 minutes left before the next reservation was due (it was only 4 of us.)
So all in all I spent 63$ for my portion with barely any protein and left slightly hungry (which is probably my fault in a sense as we mainly sampled each others plates but even so , for the quality of what you get it’s overpriced.)
You are basically only paying to sit for a few minutes ,eat plain cold food and take pretty pictures. You could go anywhere else for better service and better food for that price within the same area.

This was such a nice restaurant. I’ve always wanted to try it ever since it popped up on my social media. Their oolong tea was good and their eggs benedict were delicious. I personally really liked their Jalisco spicy mango. (I believe that’s what it was called lol)
Cheri L was our server and she was really sweet and gave me a rose to celebrate my engagement! I will always appreciate that.

Little Hen is like London’s tea time has arrived in Houston! (Little did I know they’re from Miami) That being said of many slightly high end restaurants I’m sometimes not satisfied, but with Little hen I am always impressed. Our waitress was so kind, she did sit us right by the door but it’s a small place so we didn’t mind. The tea was a bit watery but I got English breakfast I suggest putting more tea than milk. My rose milk pancakes were delicious and my friend got their Belgium waffle with drizzled dark chocolate. I love rose flavored items and the best way I can describe this to a south Asian person is falooda pancakes. I was in love and will be back to bring my mom and grandmother. I would suggest not getting their afternoon tea since I’ve heard it’s not that satisfying and instead getting their entrees, limited drinks, (one tea pot can be enough for two people). Overall 10/10!

We went to Little Hen for my friend’s birthday, and while the place is absolutely beautiful, the temperature inside was surprisingly hot—especially for a restaurant that’s on the more expensive side. We mentioned the heat to our waitress, and only after that did we suddenly feel the AC kick on. They tried to say it was because of the sun, but honestly… no. The difference was immediate once we brought it up.

The service itself was good, and the food was fine—not anything extraordinary—but the whole AC situation just didn’t make sense and definitely affected the experience.

We took our friend to celebrate his birthday. The service was fabulous, food was incredible and the aesthetics absolutely beautiful! What an adorable place! The chef made a special raspberry croissant that was out of this world-tasty and such a beautiful treat. I’ll be back with my girls at Christmas time!
