The food is undoubtedly the star. The Steak de Hache is a revelation—despite being a minced meat patty, it is packed with deep, savory flavor and a perfect texture. The Duck Confit is another standout, achieving the ideal balance of tender, flavorful meat and wonderfully crispy skin, served with a sublime pumpkin puree. Dishes like the perfectly seared Barramundi showcase the kitchen’s consistent skill across the menu. This harmony of flavors and precise execution suggests a steady, guiding hand in the kitchen, a credit to the vision of Chef Jason and his team.
The experience is elevated by a superb wine selection, which includes excellent bottles like the Lucarelli, Farnese, Lavau 2019, chosen to complement the rich cuisine perfectly.
Overall, Little Frenchie is a gem. It delivers a complete and satisfying experience where the focus is squarely on genuine quality, thoughtful cooking, and warm hospitality. It’s the kind of place you visit for consistently excellent food that feels both comforting and expertly crafted, a testament to the team’s dedication. Highly recommended for a delightful and unpretentious meal.
Steak frites medium rare, good cut. The fries is so crisp and thin, really fits the steak. Beef was juicy, seasoned well. The sauce complements and ties the dish together.
The only (small) downside is I feel like for a bistro the interior / furniture could be more fitting. Maybe plush chairs would be better than hard wooden ones. But no complain for the food.
Edit: Thinking back to it the price is quite steep for more of a cafe feel. The food is definitely good but for specifically steak frites Rp 460k is quite steep as I had have more quantity from world famous restaurant for around SGD 50. I hope this can be evaluated.
Having a French friend means I end up visiting a lot of French restaurants in Bali, and Little Frenchie was on our list for brunch. The moment we stepped inside, I loved the chic interior, the place has a very stylish and welcoming vibe.
I ordered the Croque Madame and my friend had the Eggs Benedict. Honestly, I was so impressed. The flavour was incredible, and the ham especially left such an impression easily the best Croque Madame I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious.
I’d give the food a solid 10/10 and I’ll definitely come back to try other menu! So excited!
However, just a small note: I know the restaurant is pet-friendly, which I’m totally fine with, but during our visit there was a large white dog that kept sitting next to our table waiting to be fed (we did give some of the ham to him). It was my first time seeing the dog, and when we are about to leave, my friend tried to shoo the dog away, but the dog almost bit him thankfully the teeth caught into his phone instead of his hand. I genuinely felt a bit scared, to the point that I have to moved the seat cushion beside me just to create some space and leave the table safely.
It didn’t take away from how amazing the food was, but I think the staff may need to monitor situations like this more closely so all guests feel safe and comfortable.
The restaurant has a wonderful, intimate atmosphere. My wife and I enjoyed every moment. I highly recommend this place for a memorable dinner.
French onion soup, by far the best french onion soup I ever had. No bitter taste, onion and bread tasty, the broth is amazing.
Duck confit, duck meat taste decent and tender. But the sauce not a fan of it, sweet potato are too sweet for me.
Beef bourguignon, I have a high expectation of it however I don’t really like it. I think it because the sauce feel very full and there are some smell I find it strange (its not a spoilt food smell). The beef are tender and actually not bad.
Overall, the main dish are not my type of food. But the onion soup are the best. Its very pricey for the size of the dish the give especially the soup.
