Inside, there is a room (former conference room) that has a TV that can seat for a group party.
The fish very large filets are delicious. The fish has a lot of meat and less breading. The chicken tenders are delicious. The dark meat, thighs are small, greasy and it was the worst part of the meal.
The sides are very good. The onion rings are just okay, nothing special.
*I recommend the fish and tenders. Not recommending the chicken thighs.
We will return.
Pro: chicken is good and thoroughly cooked and I got the 10 piece leg & thigh and will make four meals out of for a little over $13
Pro: atmosphere is nice. It’s a newly remodeled building with very high ceiling.
CON: septic system, south of parking lot and the wind is blowing out of the south , so Barrier wall is much needed!
Con: men’s bathroom wallpaper is peeling, trash on floor and rust is on the plumbing and paper towel dispenser broken, as you had to dry your hands off of the free standing paper roll on the sink counter at 5:30pm, so not much updating was done in my opinion because the restaurants only been open for a couple months now, so trying to save a few bucks which is understandable but hope they address those issues eventually but overall a nice bathroom. *I will be back and invite anyone who wants some decent fried chicken to stop in and see for yourself if you like it or not. I hope this helps as the restaurant is going through some growing pains because it just opened, so keep that in mind and the fact there isn’t another fried chicken place close heading north but 3 to 4 miles south is KFC, which bring your wallet because you’ll need it, it’s too expensive for me and my budget, but good chicken though. Blessings.
In the attached photos:
– The largest standing container is the extra gravy we purchased.
– The medium containers are mashed potatoes.
– The small containers are the brown gravy included with the family meals.
The order lists the sides as large, but for a family pack, the sides should be family-sized. There was no option online to increase the size of the sides, and for the price we paid, the portions were far too small. In fact, the gravy containers were so small they seemed more like individual servings.
Additionally, we scheduled pickup between 11:40 AM – 11:45 AM, but received a text at 11:11 AM that the food was ready. This means the order sat for about 30 minutes before we could pick it up.
While the food itself was good, the portion sizes and overall value did not justify the cost.
Although, the real kicker as I left, my car was struggling to start. Low and behold, Mr. Fabela runs out, skin glistening with cooking oil and I don’t know what he did with those magical chicken hands, but my engine was up and movin ill tell ya!
10/10 Customer Service, give that boy a raise!
The poppers are hot and cheesy with a good amount of spicy heat so that’s perfect.
The shrimp are always crispy and big and cheap.
The catfish fillets are super crispy, big, and thin (which is why they are always “crispy”) but they are so good they need no sauce…same with the poppers and shrimp.
The service at the window is always nice and friendly ladies.
I’ve had their fries and chicken at other locations but tasted bland for my buds so I stick to seafood and poppers and haven’t got any cold or soggy ones yet.
Time of day could possibly affect that outcome, I don’t know ♂️
Overall it blows away the fish at Long John’s by a country mile. If I were into chicken, I would probably use Raising Canes but on a budget I would opt for Lisa’s and get some 1000 islands to dip it into or honey mustard.
