Li’s Seafood Boil is a new addition to the local dining scene, offering a mix of seafood boils, sushi, and hibachi. The restaurant has a visually appealing atmosphere, and the hype surrounding it made us eager to give it a try. However, while the presentation and ambiance were impressive, the food itself fell short of expectations, especially considering the price point.
Appetizers
• Mozzarella Sticks (5/10): These tasted like they were freshly frozen rather than made in-house. While they were passable, they didn’t stand out in any way.
• Dragon Roll Sushi (4.1/10): The roll itself was decent, but the rice lacked freshness, which significantly impacted the overall flavor and texture. As frequent sushi lovers, we often visit well-known sushi spots like Asian Grill and Japan West in Findlay, and this did not compare. My wife even commented that she would have preferred grocery store sushi from Kroger.
Entrées
• Seafood Boil (6/10): The seafood boil included crawfish, shrimp, crab legs, and a lobster tail.
• Lobster Tail: Cooked well, not rubbery, and seasoned properly.
• Shrimp: Well-cooked and flavorful.
• Crab Legs: Hit or miss—some had very little meat, which was disappointing.
• Crawfish: Not a personal favorite; my experience with them was underwhelming.
• Overall, while some elements of the boil were enjoyable, the inconsistencies and lack of substantial crab meat made it an underwhelming experience.
• Hibachi (4/10): My wife ordered the hibachi and found it to be underwhelming, stating that we would have been better off dining at Tokyo, another local hibachi restaurant. The flavors and preparation did not meet our expectations for the price.
Value for Money
At $149 for the meal, we struggled to find the value. For comparison, we have dined at Mancy’s Steakhouse—a well-known fine dining restaurant in Findlay—for $120, and the experience there felt far more worth the price. Given the cost, we expected higher quality and more consistency in the dishes.
Final Thoughts
While we were excited to try Li’s Seafood Boil, the experience did not live up to our expectations. The food was average at best, and the pricing felt excessive for what we received. As a new restaurant, they may need to reconsider their pricing strategy and focus on consistency in food quality. Unfortunately, based on this visit, we do not see ourselves returning.
Great customer service, great quality food, and reasonable prices! I came in earlier today for the first time and was instantly greeted by friendly staff — it was a tough choice between the hibachi or seafood boil but ultimately opted for the hibachi. Let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint at all!
If you’re reading this, change your lunch / dinner plans and eat at Li’s Seafood Boil! I’ll most certainly be back to try the seafood boil!
Keep up the great work!
The food was amazing! I got the 1/2 pd boil with crab legs and shrimp and my boyfriend got the lobster tail and shrimp, both came with potatoes and corn. We got the Li’s special seasoning and I was worried at first because I thought it may be too much seasoning but it was perfect!
I highly recommend visiting this place!
