In the Heart of Downtown North Little Rock, Arkansas lies the charming and inviting Lindsey’s Hospitality House. A family-owned and operated business, it was originally founded in 1989 by the D.L. Lindsey Sr. and his wife Irma, who also started the world-famous Lindsey’s Bar-B-Q back in 1956. Today, the torch has been passed on to D.L.’s son, Donnie II, and his wife, Eleanor. What started as a humble lunch spot serving up delicious home cooking and Bar-B-Q has now blossomed into a full-blown dining destination. With a seating capacity of 70-80 guests, the lunch crowd is always welcome. So whether you’re in the mood for some lip-smacking Bar-B-Q or a hearty home-cooked meal, Lindsey’s Hospitality House has got everything you need!

The staff is very welcoming, friendly, and had great customer service. Every single customer that came in was greeted and a conversation was initiated. Donnie was amazing and very personable.
It was great to see leadership from the front, working side by side with the team. You can tell upon entering how much this restaurant and the community is cared for and valued by the owners.
The food was amazing as well, I enjoyed every single bite. I ordered a pork sandwich, slaw and a lemon pie. The portions were perfect, everything had great flavor and the barbecue sauce was so delicious that I unashamedly licked my plate clean.
Most of the dishes arrived cold, and many people had to microwave their food to heat it up. The greens were overly sweet, and the green beans were also sweet, which no one seemed to enjoy. The macaroni and cheese looked soupy, and many of us assumed it would have been baked rather than served in a watery cheese sauce. The black-eyed peas were under-seasoned and still a bit hard.
The candied yams were very good, and we had no complaints about them. However, the turkey and ham were both quite dry. The dressing tasted better when paired with the gravy or cranberry sauce. Lastly, the rolls had no flavor, and most people didn’t eat them.
We wanted to share this feedback to let people know that the food was good when we ordered last year we had no complaints but this year was definitely different and we may choose a different path next year.
For starters, I am a big soul food lovers and am always on the hunt for great SOUL FOOD!! This place is it!! They are a hidden gem!!! The food was amazing, great flavor, nice portions, and nice presentation! Not to mention all of the staff were phenomenal with our service! We ordered beef dinner plate, and smothered porkchops. They were both cooked to absolute perfection!! From now on, we will always stop by here as we pass through from Texas to Chicago, this will be our new tradition.
Donnie, the owner has taken on the business from his father, established in 1956, and seems to be a family run operation.
All of this to say, without even having tried the ribs! I would characterize the barbecue flavor as St. Louis style with a little bit of Texas spiciness. The barbecue meats aren’t anything extravagant; but are well and simply done pork or beef slathered with the barbecue sauce. The meats were fresh and moist, fried okra was excellent and boiled cabbage was good too.
I’m very excited to return and try the ribs and brisket; will give an updated review.
