We’re a locally owned small Ma & Pa’ish sorta joint dishing up the finest woodfired pizza in the area. Huge fans of supporting our local farmers as much as yall will let us, and when not we make sure to use the finest ingredients we can find..no matter what. Got us a dandy of a wine list and a pretty neato beer list as well. We change shit up constantly, so be sure to check in on us as often as you’d like. Lincoln Wine Bar is an old world dining experience unlike anything you will find in Eastern Iowa. Located in historic downtown Mt Vernon, LWB is a quaint and cozy atmosphere with a late 1800s limestone architecture common in that region. It is small, so make reservations. The pizzas are fire-baked in a classic Italian wood burning stove. Lots of variety, including unique mushroom, cheese, sausage, pepperoni, and green style pizzas and apps. Wide assortment of wines and beer. The service is friendly and attentive. There is a small stage for occasional live performances. LWB is great for celebrating important life milestones.

We have been coming here long before the New York Times featured the restaurant as one of the best pizza places in the US, and it consistently delivers! Amazing wood fired pizzas! Love this place and make a point of going here at least once or twice every time we visit the area. The dough is fantastic and the topping combinations are unique and delicious! Love the green one with arugula and pistachio pesto, and the Brie and Gorgonzola with green olives, and we always try the specials. Caesar salad is also a sure fire winner! And the meatballs! Yum! Great wine list too. Just got back to Seattle and I’m already missing it. See you next year!
(p.s. Any leftover pizza you take home is best warmed on a hot skillet or in the oven on a baking steel…. We always over-order so we can try more pies and have some to take home!)

Lincoln Wine Bar is mind-blowing good. We went on a Friday night and sat at the bar. The service was wonderful, and the food and drinks were incredible. The owner is also really kind, and goes above and beyond to help!
We ordered the burrata with pistachio pesto for an app which was delicious, and then the special pizza which was peaches, ham, balsamic, and Gorgonzola (we subbed the Gorgonzola for goat cheese) – and it was insanely good. I’ll be craving this one for a long time!! Hands down one of the best pizzas we have ever had. Bonus: It tastes just as good warmed up at home as leftovers!!!
For dessert, we had the tiramisu which was delicious. Try the Sonorosa sweet red wine – it was so good we took a bottle home!
Lincoln Wine Bar should definitely be on your list of go-to restaurants!

Good overall. Make reservations though, it can get busy. Wednesday half price wine bottles are a good deal. Only downside is slow food and service when busy. If you don’t mind waiting then no issues.

Recently, six of my friends and I had a wonderful experience at Lincoln Winebar in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. Our experience was amazing! We appreciated the attention our table was given with prompt and pleasant service, absolutely delicious pizza, a great wine pairing, and a quiet enough environment where we could enjoy conversation. It was also enjoyable to witness masters at work as they made our pizzas!
Our pizzas were amazing! My friend and I had one with caramelized onions and prosciutto. My husband wanted his own- a pepperoni pizza combination. Friends at the table chose the smoked margherita and we were all very satisfied. The pizza is Neapolitan style: the crust was thin, there was a bit of char on the edges, and the toppings were plentiful. It was very flavorful pizza!
We chose a Scaia wine, which was a red- not too dry or sweet. Not a wine expert, but it was perfect and two bottles seemed to work well for our group.
Reservations are suggested. I called two weeks in advance for a party of seven on a Friday date in mid-November, and there were already other large parties scheduled. We were excited to lock in the date!

I’ve been here numerous times over the years and although they’ve recently remodeled it doesn’t seem to have changed much over the years. They have authentic wood fired pizza and wine. The pizza is always good but I do wish they had a little more variety and they are on the more expensive end especially since I can eat an entire pizza by myself. I always wish wine was offered by the glass (that you could sample first) as I’m not a big drinker and would not only never want a bottle but would need to try a wine first to see if I even like it. I ordered my pizza with light smoked mozzarella since they don’t have dairy free options. So normally the pizza would have more cheese, fyi.
