Fast forward, I was served the blackened chicken dish with pork sausage bits I wasn’t made aware of. I flagged down our server who I informed that I could not eat pork or any of the dishes that we were allowed to order from this special private dinner menu (steak frites, and some other pork dish.). He shrugged. Literally shrugged. Then went on to say he would make the chef aware. Chef offered veggie pasta. I agreed to not complicate dinner. I received the pasta. Baby, I could’ve overcooked that at the house. It was actually offensive. Watered down pasta with crumbles of cheese and bits of broccoli.
Then, another server who was in charge of running the food asked how the food was. She actually seemed concerned about my satisfaction as opposed to our main server and bartender who couldn’t care less. I informed her that I did not like the pasta but not to worry. I started to plan on nursing the salad and charging the $80 lost to a “full course meal and drink” to the game. However, she was so lovely and had the kitchen provide a trout dish. Although the trout and sauce were underseasoned, at least I didn’t starve. Hallelujah!
Now for the dessert. Respectfully, no. Just no. The texture of this Mexican chocolate tart reminded me of something I cooked up in my easy bake oven when I was five. Even a light bulb could have served a better dessert which left me wondering if there even was an oven back there or just a microwave and a tiny fryer. Afterall, each dish took around forty-five minutes to arrive. That was unacceptable.
Overall, I only came for a birthday dinner and will never be back.
Last night, my real estate team, The Wanner Group, and I visited Lincoln Street Kitchen & Cocktails in downtown Charlotte, and overall it was an outstanding experience. We had a party of five, and from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere set the tone for a great evening.
The space itself is absolutely beautiful—modern, warm, and inviting with an industrial-chic vibe that feels both upscale and comfortable. It’s the kind of place that works just as well for a team dinner, date night, or entertaining clients. The lighting, exposed brick, and thoughtfully designed bar area create a relaxed but elevated environment that really stands out in Uptown.
Service was attentive and friendly without feeling rushed. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, offered great recommendations, and made sure our table was well taken care of throughout the evening. Drinks came out promptly and were crafted well—clearly a cocktail program that’s been thoughtfully put together.
As for the food—phenomenal overall. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The entrees were cooked well, seasoning was on point, and the menu felt curated rather than overwhelming. You can tell care goes into both the quality of ingredients and the execution.
The only minor hiccup of the night was the Steak Frites, which were a bit chewy compared to the rest of the meal. That said, it was a small detail in an otherwise excellent dining experience and didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed everything else.
Lincoln Street is exactly the kind of place you want in the heart of Charlotte—great food, a stylish atmosphere, and a welcoming vibe. We had a fantastic time, and it’s definitely a spot I’d recommend to friends, clients, and colleagues alike. We’ll absolutely be back!

While they do it all and do it all reasonably well at that. They excel at creating a dinner & cocktail experience that feels both hip upscale yet full of southern charm. As our waitress stated, you really can’t go wrong with anything on their dinner menu – the chef creates beautifully balanced flavors. The staff are all very pleasant and attentive. And overall they are able to accommodate even last minute reservations which is very appreciated.
The only negative for me personally is that the inside gets a bit loud, good if you like the crowd feel, but the rooftop and (new) patio dining in front are perfect spots to enjoy a chill meal and some fresh evening air!
Pictures: Tuno Crudo (100% would recommend – shocked by how good the flavors mix), Pan-Roasted Chicken w/gumbo & okra, Black Striped Seabass, Citrus Creme Brulee (best desert in Southend for anyone who loves citrus). Drinks: Hanging Garden & Ember’s Kiss. Would recommend all of these!
