I will give it one star for service and drinks. Drinks were tasty and at a good price. Even for bar food, the food was horrendous. Potato skins were bland and had zero taste. We ordered the brisket burger and were given some kind of bacon cheeseburger instead. Didn’t realize it until halfway through. The meat was burnt to a char and dry (see picture)
Also ordered the sliders, which were okay but the meat was still overcooked and dry. If I ever come here again, I will be sure to only order the drinks.

Had a get together for my dad’s birthday. there was plenty of seating when we arrived. we got our drink orders promptly. We had some time to look over the food menu, which was amazing! Good selection of food; from burgers and wraps to mac’n’cheese and pizza. Portion size was amazing too! I had enough food to take home and have leftovers. Some of us even stayed trivia night later on. Would definitely come back!

We enjoyed the flights, and every beer we tried was really good. Unfortunately, they had karaoke that night, and the volume was so loud that conversation was nearly impossible. The space is just too small for that level of sound, which really took away from the experience. We were honestly relieved when it was time to leave.
Aside from that, everything else was great. The smash burger was excellent, though the Reuben didn’t quite hit the mark. I’d recommend going when there isn’t live music.

Went for a meetup for friend. Had the Rye IPA which was delish. Bands played mostly fun interpretations of classic rock.

This is my favorite brewery in Pittsburgh. The beer is solid the food is great. The owners are the loveliest people. Don’t expect a quick visit, everything in the kitchen is homemade and made to order so it might be a minute but it is totally worth it. They have specials every week which keeps the menu fresh all while keeping their all stars (PICKLE DIP!!). I love this place so much, it’s just the perfect friendly brewpub vibe.

There’s not much available on the menu if you dont eat meat, but the beer is excellent and they have decent variety. The staff is friendly and personable. The Caesar salad was good. The crutons gave it a smokiness that I wasn’t expecting but greatly appreciated. It tasted like a charred wedge salad ive had from other establishments. The salad to dressing ratio was perfect.

Take Back Roads
These folks are off to a very promising start. Much of the food was very good. Though there were too many IPAs for my taste, their non-IPA (and milder IPA) beers were good. They have a good selection of other local beer and spirits, and the mixed drink with the Maggie’s farm products was delicious. The pickled veggies, cole slaw, and smoky dipping sauce were also excellent. The decor was well executed.
Needs improvement: do not believe the hype about the pretzel! It’s a fantastic $6 pretzel… but it costs $12. It’s substantially over-priced. The flank steak was tasty but somewhat chewy. Our server Seth was incredibly helpful and attentive, but needs to learn the products better.

Not gonna lie, I was a little surprised by the bad reviews! Maybe things have improved in the past couple of months? Hot take, but this might honestly be one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time! Dare I say, even better than In-N-Out? Add in a great beer selection and super friendly staff, and I’d definitely say it’s worth checking out!

Wonderful establishment, very good beer, drinks, and food only adds to the friendly and knowlegeable staff. Outstanding service with Great food and drink too, makes you want to return over and over.. The desserts are a hidden gem.
