A friend and I were here to lunch. The food was ok, but the service was very lacking.. The waitor pretty much ignored us the whole time.

The platano frito was good
The Jalea was pretty good
Arroz con Mariscos was ok
The crispy pork belly was not crispy.
Not impress with the Beef Empanadas

We asked for check and pack left over. He asked how many boxes? But he never return with any box. While we see other wait staff take away the left over dishes to pack for the other customers.

After another 10min of nothing, we asked another staff and she finally took our dishes to pack.

Then another 10min before the check come. For the price of the restaurant, just not impress with the services!

We had a good experience at Limón. The staff was friendly and helpful, and with a reservation for our group of four, we were seated right away. We chose the outdoor seating, which was comfortable and a bit quieter than inside.

The food was tasty, though a little on the pricey side. My favorites were the Lomo Saltado and the Anticuchos de Pollo. Overall, we all enjoyed our meal and had a nice time at Limón.

Our dad hit the big 85 and after being taken out to eat many times by other friends and family, he insisted that he did not want any more Asian food. So… the sister chose Limon out of Mtn. View on Castro where she and I had worked as teens in a previous life. So in many ways, it was like returning to home.

Limon is Peruvian Seafood and after being robbed of a trip to Peru that was cut short, I guess my sister wanted to revisit the cuisine. So this is where Mom, Dad, Sis1 and I went.

I’ll keep this succinct because it’s late and I don’t want to type too much.

We came for lunch on a Tuesday and had no issues getting a seat. There were patrons but the venue was not crowded. When being seated, as a party we were a bit.. fidgety and the staff was extremely patient and accommodated all of our quirks and asks, including moving tables to get us out of the bright glare of a window side seat to one that had more light shade. Know that the tables near the windows are elevated so not standard table height and are like bar tables but not as high. The tables on the main floor are standard height. There is also outside dining available.

The food was fabulous. Steak, Plantains, Octopus wonderfully plated, Fried Fish beautifully presented, truffle Mac and Cheese, clam and shrimp… Paella? (can’t be right). And the Ceviche was unique with fish, squid, corn and very tasty and refreshing. Even paired it all with Peruvian beer which was very light and went well with a seafood meal. We had 3 sauces, a green, orange and Chimichurri of which I liked the green the best as it was spicy. Not spicy for a fire eater but it had a decent kick for good character. The Chimichurri was not impressive by my standards but my sis says it was good so I’ll take her word for it. Have a look at the pics associated with this review and you will see them in all their glory. There was not a single sad dish in our set. I know I am not providing a whole lot of detail, but everything was good to the point where I cannot nitpick about any of them. The deserts were also really good but I understand the custard looking one we had was a bit more dense than others of this same kind. The Tres Leches was moist and delightful. And did you see that B-day presentation?

I won’t talk about the atmosphere which was lovely, clean, modern and bright. Nice place to be.

I didn’t know what Peruvian food was before Limon. I would do it again. You should do it, too. Price is higher than your average dining so be prepared. Even then, this is a worthy treat for the cost.

Really good fried rice, plaintains, and beef short ribs! Crispy pork belly was too tough.

Nice service (2 birthdays at 2 tables near us, the staff sang happy birthday to them), and upscale ambience (most people were dressed nicely).

Seating at our table had really high chairs – they were hard to move / adjust.

Only been there once. There server was very helpful and gave some good recommendations. The ceviche, the sauces in the dishes, desserts and drinks were very flavorful. However the mahi mahi and chicken were overcooked.

Visited for a team dinner and seemed it’s a quite popular place for team dinners – was very crowded on the weekday dinner. Had ceviche and fried fish, which was okay. While they are fresh, the Peruvian sauces were not for me.

Pretty disappointing at this price point. Most proteins are simply fried without much skills or sophistication. The chicken is dry. The beef tongue lacks the charcoal flavor.

First time being at this restaurant. We ordered a deep fried seafood (JALEA), a half rotisserie chicken, and a seafood paella (ARROZ CON MARISCOS) – The deep fried seafood tasted good and not too oily. The chicken thigh and drumstick were also delicious, but the breast was a bit too dry; The paella (they don’t call it as such by the way) was good too, the portion isn’t as big as you would see at other restaurant, but I would say it is enough for 2 – 4 adults if you intend to share all dishes.

We could find better taste of each individual dishes elsewhere, but to find them all in one restaurant is probably not that easy. All 3 dishes plus 2 drinks came in total $99+tax+gratuity, which isn’t cheap for 2 people. We could’ve just ordered 2 dishes instead, but we thought we gave it a good try. Overall, the food is considered good, it is a solid 4 stars, but I won’t give it 5 stars.

The waiter was super nice and friendly, the service should deserve 5 stars!! This restaurant is quite popular in the area, we were there without reservation, so we were given the choice of either at the bar or outdoor dining spot.

In summary, we have not yet found a good reason we would come back again any time soon. if we do, we probably would try out some other dishes and the seafood paella is probably the one we would order again.!!

The CRISPY PORK BELLY CHAUFA was amazing! The SALTADO DE POLLO was a little salty for me, but the beef tongue was super tender and delicious.
