Family Owned Peruvian Restaurant
Executive chef, Martín Castillo, and his brothers, Antonio and Eduardo, grew up around a busy kitchen. Their mother, Luz, was well known in her neighborhood for her delicious cooking: her son’s friends would always ask her to make their families a dish on special occasions.
By the 1990’s the Castillo brothers had left Perú and found themselves in the U.S. They continued their ritual of cooking home-style Peruvian dishes out of their apartment for family, friends and, soon enough, friends of friends. It was then that they knew there was something worth sharing.
By 2002, the Castillo’s first restaurant, “Limón” opened its doors on 17th Street in the Mission District of San Francisco.
Limon Burlingame also offers takeout which you can order by calling the restaurant at (650) 727-0050. How is Limon Burlingame restaurant rated?

Great food, good service. Waiters are attentive even with a full house. Plantains and Empanadas were great. Food comes family style, sharing is fun and a must. Can be very noisy but that’s a given in most popular US restaurants. Americans are LOUD.

The food was alright. It wasn’t great. The drinks where probably my favorite which was the typical Peruvian drink called chicha morada. The Lomo Saltado didn’t pick up the flavor or whatever they seasoned it with. It still had that bloody meat flavor. The fries well how can you go wrong with fries. The rice was very bland. My friend ordered a mix ceviche and it wasn’t very flavorful.

Same excellent food as the other locations, but brighter and more spacious! Definitely my fave location of the 3 I’ve been to. Always a great experience, highly recommend Limón.

It was nice to be there. The service was excellent. Food was also good. It was my first time trying the Peruvian food. Adding them images of a few that we tried. Non alcoholic drinks weren’t very crazy.

Love Limon! Their food, service and vibe is impeccable — every single time. And it’s right off the Burlingame Caltrain station, cannot miss.

Five stars for food, but four considering service. The server didn’t take my gluten allergy seriously until I asked for a bowl of plain rice. After that, the situation was resolved and we had a great meal. I knocked off one star for the poor start.
