If you’re anywhere near Mt. Vernon, KY, Limestone Bar and Grill is a must-stop spot for a delicious, homestyle meal with fantastic service. I stopped in recently and was impressed from the moment I walked through the door.
The dining area is clean, spacious, and filled with natural light—and the views of the surrounding hills make it an especially relaxing place to enjoy lunch. The atmosphere is welcoming and has that perfect mix of rustic charm and local comfort.
The food was the highlight. I ordered the chicken tenders with onion rings and green beans, and everything tasted fresh, hot, and homemade. The chicken was seasoned just right, the onion rings were perfectly crispy, and the green beans were full of flavor. My dining partner ordered the BLT with house-made chips, and it was just as impressive—thick-cut bacon, fresh ingredients, and those crunchy chips that you can tell are made in-house.
Service was quick and friendly, and the staff made us feel like regulars. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in, enjoy a hearty meal, and take in some beautiful Kentucky scenery through the big picture windows.
If you’re traveling through the area or looking for a local spot that hits the mark on food, portions, and hospitality, Limestone Bar and Grill is absolutely worth the stop.

Never eating here again waste of money. I used to eat here with my dad almost every week and this place used to be amazing, however me and my husband went today thinking it would be good we were so wrong. The food was basically inedible. Something needs to be done about this what once used to be amazing home cooked food is now the worst food I’ve ever had.

Catfish pairs well with hush puppies. Extremely fresh and flavorful. That’s the standout item on their menu.

Excellent Place !
The Man and I loved the food and the service was first rate. While we didn’t get there in time for the Pecan pie (boo), the lava cake and the coconut cream were first rate. The Man got the Chicken Tenders while I partook the meatloaf on special. I had the corn as a side and wow! So sweet and tasty, I almost wanted to swear that it was a silver queen variety . Watching the man put sriracha on his mashed potatoes was strange but there you go..

I have eaten a lot of catfish in my 56yrs. And this was the best fried catfish I have ever eaten. Sorry Grandmother…. this was amazing! I did the full order and had 1/2 fried and 1/2 blackened. Both excellent!

This is a very clean and welcoming place. The service was great. Had breakfast and dinner here and we were not disappointed. Prices were very reasonable. We even got a short tour of the place after breakfast. If you are in the area we absolutely recommend stopping! The view isn’t bad either!

No good today. Worse waitress I ever had. 15 minutes after our drink order she came back to take our order. Could not remember our order. Had to tell her 2x. Never brought drink refills. I finally asked for refills 2x before we got them. Never checked on us at all. Got our salads after our meal and after we asked. Steak like leather, potato wouldn’t even melt the butter, tea was weak as colored sweetened water. Bab bad experience. And they were maybe 1/3 full.

This place is a hidden gem! We stopped here for lunch on our way to NC. I had the half portion of fried catfish with fried green tomatoes and a side salad. The fish was hand breaded and the best catfish I’ve ever had! Ranch dressing was homemade and so good! My husband had the hillbilly tacos and they were fantastic! Our waitress Rhonda was so welcoming and helpful, making great recommendations! We will definitely be back when we’re on another vacation!

Stopped in for a quick late lunch on our way through town. We missed any kind of lunch or dinner crowd and were seating right away. We shared the Vegetable soup and grilled cheese lunch special before ordering out meals. Our server, Rhonda, was great and gave us the details on what was popular and we weren’t disappointed. My husband had the chicken fried chicken and I had the Hillbilly tacos. We would recommend and will definetly come back.

We missed our exit to stop at a food place we wanted to try. Because of this error, we ended up here. The food was amazing! We started to eat the appetizer plate before I could take a picture. Fried mushrooms, fried cauliflower and potato skins!! I had the hillbilly tacos, my daughter had the frog legs, and my husband had the special which was brisket. The staff was very friendly! A lot of locals we noticed were here which just says even more about this place! This will be our new stop on our way from Indiana to Tennessee!!!
