Social Profile:

Lily’s is an authentic Indian vegetarian & vegan restaurant. The family business from which Lily’s has been founded started in 1972 by husband and wife Mr PG Sachdev and Mrs Lilawati Sachdev – PG lovingly called his wife Lily. Lily used to make all the savouries by hand and all these items sold out quickly in their small shop on Cotton Street East, Ashton-Under-Lyne. Unfortunately Lily passed away before the restaurant was set up, so in her memory we named our restaurant Lily’s, a loving legacy she has left behind. We have sourced our experienced chefs from all over North India, South India and Rajastan. Everything is freshly prepared by them so all the flavours you taste are as if you were actually visiting India!

Comfy, art-filled setting for an all-vegetarian Indian menu, with a dessert case & lassi drinks.

Food was delicious, hygienic and very quick to service. The staff was super friendly. We were served by Sai he was very polite and served us well. We had indo chinese and crispy Okra and Carrot halva in the dessert all that we ordered was yummy especially the dessert. They also had a 25% off offer for the month of January so we got that too and no service tax was charged. Would highly recommend to all.

This is my first time here but it my girlfriend’s families regular place to go. I was so excited to visit and I was not disappointed. The service was amazing considering there was 10 of us there for lunch. All the food was cooked to perfection and full of authentic flavour. The sizzle dishes were spectacular and so lovely to be able to get tofu versions as I’ve not seen this anywhere else. From the crisp poppadoms to the delightfully spicy channa masala everything was delicious and myself and my girlfriend both thoroughly recommended this restaurant.

I visited yesterday and while the atmosphere was nice and the place looked clean, the overall experience was disappointing.

We bought mawa peda worth around £15. When we got home and tasted it, it had a clear burning smell and taste and for that price it felt like a complete waste of money.

Additionally, one of the staff was generally rude, which made the experience worse. I hope the management improves both product quality and customer service.

Also, would like to mention that Vada Pav was very tasty.

I kept driving past Lilys but I’ve never actually been in the restaurant before. But tonight was my first time going to the restaurant with my Mum along with my blind friend from high school who I haven’t seen in ages, we didn’t book in advance as it was a last minute plan but the staff didn’t mind and let us into the restaurant and when we walked in the atmosphere was very welcoming, vibrant and authentic. We then sat down and ordered some food off the menu and it tasted amazing that even my blind friend loved it and ate all his food and would definitely come again. The staff were very friendly and kind to us and the service was very good and quite quick. Would definitely return

One of my favourite restaurants. The food is amazing and the staff are always friendly and attentive.

The deli is a must visit too, I go all the time to get my kachori fix ☺️

Vegetarian indian restaurant in ashton – opposite ikea. Restaurant had a thali section and a normal restaurant.
The thali sells a few indian ingredients (herbs / tea etc) and indian sweets.
The indian sweets were ok but not the best I’ve had.

Restaurant had a wide selection of options. Portion sizes were enough for me but probably a bit small for most people. Prices were normal but a bit expensive for vegetarian dishes.

Taste was mediocre – nothing special and nothing stood out.

Absolutely loved this place. From the moment of arrival the staff were friendly and attentive. My dining companion (vegan) was helped by the charming young man who took our order, and our food arrived very quickly. We enjoyed an unhurried and relaxed three course lunch, then bought cakes from the takeaway shop. The food was delicious. This place is right up there with the very best Indian restaurants I’ve visited (and I’ve been to a lot!). Thank you.

We visited for a belated anniversary dinner and had a truly memorable experience. Excellent food paired with warm, attentive service made the evening feel special.

The Paneer Angara was rich and smoky, the Garlic Coriander Naan soft and fresh, and the Gobi Manchurian crisp and well-seasoned, with Limca complementing the meal perfectly. We ended with their signature Dessert Tripti Bhog—soft, creamy, and deeply satisfying. Outstanding vegetarian Indian food with great consistency and hospitality. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be back.
