A Flavor Journey Across Thailand & China, Right Here in Ireland!
We’ve had incredible food all over Ireland during our road trip, but this stop was something else entirely. When we visited Dursey Island, the lovely couple from Murphy’s Mobile Catering insisted we try this place — and oh boy, did we have a treat!
The Thai curry was the star of the table — rich, aromatic, and bursting with layers of flavor. Creamy coconut milk hugged tender vegetables and juicy pieces of meat, while the perfect balance of lemongrass, kaffir lime, and a gentle chili heat danced on the palate. Every spoonful was comfort and excitement in one.
The fried rice instantly transported me to the bustling streets of Thailand — perfectly stir-fried with just the right smokiness, flecked with vibrant veggies, and carrying that irresistible “wok hei” aroma.
Then came the Chinese-style chow mein — oh my my, those slippery, juicy noodles were so good that my kids and I were nearly fighting over the last bite. Each mouthful was coated in a savory soy-garlic sauce, with tender vegetables and just the right chew to the noodles.
The Tom Yum soup was pure comfort in the rainy Irish weather — tangy, spicy, fragrant, and soul-warming. It opened up our senses with every sip.
We also enjoyed crispy golden spring rolls — crunchy on the outside, filled with savory vegetables inside, and served with a sweet-chili dipping sauce that made them irresistible.
We finished with their fortune cookies, which were delightfully crisp, lightly sweet, and blissfully not eggy. A perfect ending to a truly memorable feast.

Duck, with satay sauce – best we have ever tried. Service – top 5! We have not had reservation, however lady at reception made arrangements and made an offers for us. Lovely place for dinner and time with your relatives.

The food is a little pricey but well worth it! I’ve eaten a lot of Chinese and Thai over the years but all the food here really impressed me. We couldn’t get enough of the red curry, and the crispy duck was just exceptional. Elegant atmosphere and great service as well. Don’t miss it in Kenmare!

8 days into our 14 day Ireland vacation we landed in Kenmare for 3 days and lodged at a lovely townhouse about half a mile from the city center. During our time in Ireland we had enjoyed traditional Irish cuisine, but were ready for something different. Lily House delivered in full. Lily is an upscale Thai/Chinese fusion restaurant with an interesting menu that allows the guest to customize their dish. I had the Chinese stir fry vegetables with tiger prawns and a black garlic and ginger sauce that left me wanting more. The food arrived on an iron skillet and was sizzling and crackling like a fajita dish. I ordered a bottle of a local Kenmare brewery golden lager which was the perfect beverage for my main course. I left Lily House having experienced the top meal of my trip. You can just stop in, or better yet, make a reservation.

An amazing small gem in kenmare town. The atmosphere is lovely. A nice relaxing and romantic atmosphere. The combo platter is so fresh and tasty. The servers are very kind and accomadating. One of the more authentic chineese and Thai resteraunts I have been to in Ireland.

We’ve been looking for some place to eat vegan/vegetarian food, we didn’t want to eat poor chips again:) We were lucky to find this place. Food was great, we didn’t have to wait ages for the starters and I must say that place was very busy on Tuesday evening. Very good service, girls were really looking after us. Fully recommended place.

The staff is also super friendly. I highly recommend the Amber Fire Fillet Steak, perfectly cooked medium. Most other restaurants always mess this up.
