The food was rich and delicious. The best escargot I’ve ever had. The cocktails were show-stoppers and the desserts were spectacular. The waitstaff treat you like an old friend. I’ll be dining here every time I come to San José.

Perfect place for a fancy dinner. Had a dishes selection that was about right for any taste preference. Please order the onion soup, it is just wonderful. The desserts are also top notch. The place is beautiful, the cocktails are highly recommended too. Service was impecable, the staff was friendly, attentive and helpful, found a nice table for me and my fiancee and her recommendations were all on point.

Good restaurant but need to put the extra effort. Need to improve service and experience, some of the dishes that we order wasn’t the traditional French version of them. Cocktails are pretty good and recommended.

We enjoyed our lunch. I had the cauliflower steak whose toppings of jus, roasted nuts, and squash puree were superb. I enjoyed the lemon tart for dessert, with its fine merengue topping. My sisters enjoyed their seafood soup and duck salad, which looked divine. We loved the wines, and topped it off with cappuccino. Service was attentive but not interrupting. Good food, great service. We look forward to returning for our monthly lunch.
We came back again! The atmosphere was so much nicer than the noisy place across the street. I loved the mushroom millefeuille of thinly sliced cremini and oyster mushrooms in a creamy sauce. The onion soup got rave reviews from our French friend, who is hard to please. The staff treated us with a lovely birthday plate of their homemade cookies and truffles. Our French friend, said, “But why no French music?” and they went and changed it for her. LOL.

I went back in January and I cannot tell you how good this place was. The sea bass was the best I’ve ever had, hands down, no questions asked. I will be coming back in april to costa rica and this is at the top of my list to go back to!

Tonight was my first time here, I had a memorable experience! I have to say L’Ile de France exceeded my expectations, the hostess was super friendly and welcoming, our server was Gustavo and his recommendations were on point, he explained some of the best dishes on the menu to help us choose the best option available. Our appetizer was Tartare de Salmon, main dish Boeuf Bourguignon and our dessert was a French apple tart with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. Not only our food was delicious but also the service provided was 5 stars! I walked out this restaurant extremely satisfied with everything. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely come back.

This is also on Avenida Escazú, it has an open area as well as inside seatings. I was alone so sat on the bar. The chairs were tall and heavy, difficult to slide, so need help to seat close to the bar table. They had a Sommelier recommending wine and dishes that would go along them. Had the chance to chat for a while, settling for a Rioja Bordón Crianza, which at first taste you found the acidity, and later as it took air, it was incredible.
On the food side, the dishes and quality was excellent, had a fish tartare, very well prepared, and shrimps and rice with a lemon sauce.
Excellent food all in all, as well as the service which was cordial and always looking at any sign if I would need any help.
