We visited this sweet homemade ice cream institution while seeing the beach this summer and were amazed. The staff is so friendly and nice, very helpful with anything needed! The ice cream is what dreams are made of, nice and soft but hard enough to stay together until finished. It’s so hard to find family owned/run businesses anymore and am always excited to try them when I come across them. You pull up and order at the front window then there is seating on the side of the building in the shade to enjoy your sweet treat!It is definitely worth the trip and wait in line as the lines are fairly long in summer.

Delicious homemade ice cream made onsite with milk from NC dairy cows. Locally owned, fast friendly service. Shady area to eat and a clean restroom. Highly recommend, especially the peanut butter with Butterfinger. We’ll be back!

Great place to go but be prepared for a line weekends at night and worth the wait. All the kids working were friendly with great attitudes and the ice cream and sorbet were all so good. Being dairy free the inclusion makes me so happy. I had the horchata flavor with a cherry and wet nuts. And husband had a butter pecan milk shake with whipped cream.

Home made ice cream, if you’re looking for something to fix that sweet tooth of yours, I highly recommend giving this place a try. You’ll be sorry that you didn’t stop. Ice cream here is really good and they have alot of options for flavors, as well as other specialties.

We ate at Lil & John’s Sweet Treat for the first time this weekend. We will definitely be back. We had the 6 scoop sampler. A must have! Too many flavors to choose from. The 6 we had were amazing. The line moved fast due to the staff’s efficiency. This stop is a must while vacationing at the beach.

Great choices of daily flavors and even though the line gets long they clear it out quickly. It’s ice cream, whats not to like.
We got the hot fudge cake sundae and since we were going to split it, we added an additional scoop of ice cream. They added additional whipped cream and a cherry without us having to ask. The sundae was excellent. The girl at the order window was very pleasant and even though they were busy, she let our son sample a flavor without sighing or huffing like many kids these days. I highly recommend stopping and giving them a try even if you see a long line, it’s worth it.

My favorite ice cream ever!! We stop any time we are in the area no matter how long the line is. They work QUICK and once you order, it’s out within minutes. I’m obsessed with the key lime pie or the cookies and cream. The chocolate cake sundae is delicious and a very generous serving. For homemade ice cream, with local NC grass fed dairy, you absolutely cannot beat these prices. The ice cream is fresh, creamy, and always hits the spot! The staff is always so friendly and Casey always has great conversation with us.
