Lido Harlem Restaurant: A Culinary Gem in the Heart of Harlem
Reviews
The restaurant is pretty tight. Tables are pretty close together. Hard to get in and out when other diners are next to you.
Would definitely return here.
-The grilled or roasted lamp shops : 8/10
-I forgot the name but it was like a lasagna with eggplant ( it doesn’t look good in the picture but it was super delicious) : 9.5/10
– Tiramisu : 8/10 like the one you have in Rome.
The food is consistently on point and never disappoints.
The owners are also super sweet and amazing and definitely care about their customers and their dining experience.
I love the old school flair ambience and the menu is concise and simple. I think it’s one of the better Spaghetti & Meatball dishes. Highly recommend the chicken Marsala as the flavors are just divine.
Service has always been attentive and welcoming. Couldn’t recommend this resto enough!
at Lido Harlem and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Susannah and her team were absolutely wonderful from the very first planning conversation all the way through to the last guest leaving the restaurant. They were organized, attentive, and genuinely cared about making the evening feel special.
The food was excellent across the board, beautifully prepared and full of flavor, and the atmosphere struck the perfect balance: lively and bustling, yet still relaxed and intimate enough for conversation. The music added to the vibe without overpowering the room, and the staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and on top of every detail.
Our entire group (over 30 guests) had an unforgettable night, and I’m so grateful to the whole team for helping make such a meaningful celebration flawless. Highly recommend Lido for any special occasion, or just a fantastic dinner out.
Years ago, I came across this spot on a recommendation—and it left such a lasting impression that I knew I had to return. This recent visit confirmed exactly why it earned a place on my personal list of must-try restaurants.
Nestled in Harlem, this restaurant is part of a neighborhood that has seen tremendous change over the past 30 years. While gentrification brings complex emotions, one positive is the emergence of exceptional dining experiences like this. It’s a beautiful reflection of Harlem’s evolving food scene—where history, creativity, and hospitality meet.
We visited for brunch and went with the bottomless Sangria and Mimosas. The Sangria surprised me—it was much lighter than expected, with a crisp, refreshing taste. At first, I thought it might be the white version, and the staff didn’t hesitate to bring over both so I could compare. That thoughtful touch set the tone for the entire meal. The service was friendly, prompt, and attentive without ever feeling rushed.
The white polenta was everything I hoped for—smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. It brought back all the good memories from my first visit. The braised short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender and incredibly flavorful. These are the kinds of dishes that show real care and technique in the kitchen.
The atmosphere is just as inviting as the food. There’s a vibrant energy in the space—stylish yet relaxed, making it perfect for everything from a leisurely brunch with friends to a date night or special celebration.
Whether you’re a local or visiting New York City and want to explore Harlem beyond the typical tourist stops, I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a true gem—where the food is memorable, the drinks are generous, and the service makes you feel like a valued guest. I’ll absolutely be returning again.
