Our order:
Word fired pepperoni and spicy honey pizza
Half rack of pork spare ribs
Smoked Brisket
We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to others.
If you’re driving through the Keys and skip this place, that’s on you — because Lick It BBQ is one of those rare stops that hits everything: food, views, vibe, service, all of it.
We came in as a family of five and instantly realized we’d found a spot we’re going to talk about every time we head toward Key West. You’re literally eating under tiki huts in the sand, just steps from crystal-clear water, watching a sunset that looks like it was painted by a show-off. Total hidden-gem energy.
Food (Legit 8/10)
The BBQ here surprised me in the best way.
Brisket and ribs were super tender with real smoke flavor — not that sugary tourist-trap stuff.
The sauces on the table were all good, and matched the meats perfectly.
Several groups around us were raving about the ribs being 10/10, and they weren’t kidding.
One guy next to us ordered the whole hog snapper and wouldn’t shut up about how good it was.
Another couple was talking up the conch fritters and pulled pork.
Bottom line: whatever you order, the meats come out tender and flavorful.
Wood-Fired Pizza
Yes, a BBQ place making great pizza sounds suspicious — but it’s legit.
Fresh, huge portions, crispy edges, soft center. One of the best pizzas we’ve had in the Keys. The lobster pizza at the next table also got serious praise.
Atmosphere (Unbeatable)
This might be the best waterfront setup of any casual spot in the Keys.
Tiki huts with picnic tables
Soft sand under your feet
Crystal-clear water 20 feet away
Jet ski rental and bait shop next door
String lights overhead
Sunsets that look fake
Even TVs and domino tables if you want them
It’s casual, relaxed, and somehow still feels like the ideal vacation scene.
Family-Friendly
Our kids loved it. Other families around us were having the same experience. It’s one of those places where nobody cares if your kid is barefoot, sandy, or inhaling ribs like a small animal.
Perfect spot for families, date night, or just grabbing a quick bite while soaking in the water view.
Service
Staff was friendly and welcoming, and the owner, Raul, was walking around making sure people were happy — and he was genuinely attentive. You don’t see that everywhere.
Final Verdict
Lick It BBQ is everything you want in a Keys stop:
casual, beautiful, relaxed, delicious.
BBQ that hits, pizza that surprises, sunsets that belong in movies, and the kind of setting you’ll remember long after your trip ends.
Easily one of our favorite discoveries in the Keys. Highly recommended.
What makes it even more special is the location – right on the waterfront, with a small beach nearby and crystal-clear water. Perfect spot to enjoy great food and relax.
This will definitely be our favorite stop on the way to Key West. Highly recommended!
