I first tried Liang’s Garden Restaurant around the Covid Shut down. I am actually surprised, it took me so long, for me to finally eat here. I grew up not far from this area. I used to work out at the now closed LA Fitness, down the Street. I believe it is due to people’s loyalty to good Chinese Restaurants. I used to eat at one, in Homewood called Golden Buddha. This location is the closest to matching their amazing flavor. Ever since I started eating here, they are always a top option, if I don’t feel like cooking.
What really makes Liang’s Garden Restaurant special, is not just the high quality of the taste, but the abundance of theportions they give. I am a big guy, and I can eat a lot. However, I can never finish an entire dinner plate from Liang’s, in one sitting. I ordered Mongolian Chicken last night, and the chicken was not dry at all, it was sweet and juicy. In addition, there are other details, that highlights Liang’s dedication, to customers satisfaction. For example, this is the only Chinese restaurant, that I have ordered from, that does not charge extra, for having Shrimp Fried Rice, with the lunch and dinner specials. I have been to a significant number of Oriental Restaurants, and I can say without a doubt, this is the ONLY ONE that does not charge extra. It is originally offered with the meal. All the other restaurants, originally offer pork or beef fried rice, but then charge extra for the shrimp, because they know, that is what everyone wants. It is little things like that, that puts them above others.
Liang’s Garden Restaurant is a beautiful building and has a nice Zen ambiance inside. The only somewhat constructive criticism I have is, I wish they would eventually open up, the dine in option. I would love to sit down and have a meal. I can imagine, it was shut down, due to Covid. There are many businesses, that did not survive all that chaos. However places like Liang’s Garden Restaurant, will never fold. It is due to their understanding, of placing Quality over everything else. That is how you build a loyal customer base, that will fight hard, to keep everything operational, so their favorite businesses do not close. Thank you very much.
The food is okay; it’s standard, basic American Chinese cuisine. It won’t blow you away, but it’s consistent and gets the job done for a quick, no-frills meal.
Ultimately, this spot is mainly set up for takeout or delivery, not for a sit-down dining experience. The dining room situation is a big drawback if you were hoping for a nice sit-down meal, so plan accordingly and stick to ordering online or calling ahead for carryout.
