Liam Ash Cocktail Emporium is an absolute revelation! This place has a wonderful, intimate, almost speakeasy vibe that immediately makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a secret, sophisticated hideaway. The ambiance is perfect for a date night or a quiet drink with friends.
The service is unparalleled. The staff isn’t just serving drinks; they are true connoisseurs. It felt like we had a “bourbon sommelier” guiding our experience! They are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, asking the right questions to tailor recommendations perfectly.
In fact, the server turned me on to a new bourbon that I now absolutely love and have since purchased for my home bar—that level of personalized expertise is rare and highly appreciated!
The food bites were perfect complements to the spirits—small, flavorful, and expertly paired.

Nikki and Louis are hands down the best bartenders! They were extremely personable, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience unforgettable. Nikki’s knowledge of the bourbons was impressive — she knew the history behind each one and had such a genuine passion for describing the flavors and undertones. Every drink they crafted was absolute perfection! The two of them were funny, relatable, and created such a welcoming atmosphere. The space itself has a chic, classy vibe that takes you back to an upscale Prohibition-era lounge. A must-visit spot for anyone who appreciates top-notch cocktails and great company!

While visiting Bardstown, us and another couple stopped in at 10:15. We were told they closed at 11. We inquired about another place but Nikki said if you want good mixed drinks stay here. 45 minutes to closing she could have taken the easy route with us. She didn’t! She offered outside seating under Edison lighting. She walked us out, had to use a key to open gates, turn on the lights and set up the tables. She then gave us a nice rundown on the menu and never rushed us out. That’s service! And we were all happy with what we ordered. Thanks Nikki and Liam Ash! We’ll be stopping in again!

It’s an absolute gem all the way around… Amazing cocktails, beautiful aesthetics, and an extremely knowledgeable, certified bourbon expert bartender named Nicki that not only knew the bourbons, but all the great history behind each one. This was absolutely an incredible experience. We met Nikki walking down the street as we left another restaurant after having a terrible experience and she welcomed us with open arms. The drinks were spot on with Louis the bartender and the atmosphere and setting is so comfortable it is a true Emporium and it blends the old world with the new a true speakeasy located in central downtown. I could not say enough about the Customer Service the opportunity to sit at the bar, watch drinks being made right in front of you. The care and the expert passion that went into every single drink on a Saturday night in September. It made our trip well worth our time. This is definitely a spot to visit and we will be returning. Giving five stars is simply not enough. This is an experience and an establishment that needs to be taken in when in Bardstown. Thank you, Nikki and Louis for making us feel like family.
