Reviews
The wait staff are just as delightful as the food – attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. They add so much to the overall experience with their genuine hospitality and thoughtful service. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows in every interaction.
And the ambiance? Impeccable. Soft music, cozy lighting, and thoughtful decor make it a perfect spot for brunch dates or breakfast with the family. It’s elegant without being stuffy, and every detail feels intentional.
Marii, our server was friendly and had great suggestions.
And they have 0 proof mimosas!
Food Quality Issues
• Temperature: I ordered the ham and cheese croissant, which arrived refrigerator-cold. When I alerted the server, he claimed it had “just come out of the oven,” which was impossible given the temperature.
• Poor Reheating: After being sent back, the croissant returned warm on the outside, but the ham inside remained cold.
• Lack of Ingredients: The filling was nearly non-existent, consisting of a mere sliver of ham and no discernible cheese. This falls far short of the “generous amount” one expects from a proper French pastry.
Service Failures
• Negligence: Our server never returned to check on us, preventing us from ordering additional items. My friend eventually had to flag down a random staff member to ask about her missing coffee.
• Unprofessional Attitude: When asked for the missing coffee, the staff member told us to wait so she could speak with another table first. That was fine but when she returned, she told us how it should have arrived prior to receiving our food. We realize that someone forgot the coffee but I’m not sure of her point in making us feel like we did something wrong.
• The “Hint” to Leave: After the coffee finally arrived, the server reappeared only to warn us that we might get a parking ticket if we stayed too long. It felt like a thinly veiled attempt to push us out of the restaurant after ignoring us for the duration of our meal.
Conclusion
Despite being local and being dressed appropriately, we felt unwelcome and ignored. We ended up cutting the visit short and heading to Tavern Hall in Bellevue just to get an actual meal. It was an embarrassing impression to leave on a visitor, and I won’t be rushing back.
Honestly, for such an expensive pastry place, such service and attitude are unacceptable. Don’t waste your money here when they don’t care about the customer at all.
