I recently had the pleasure of dining at Leo’s Kitchen, and it was great!!

The menu offers a variety of dishes, showcasing great traditional flavors.
What truly stood out was the fried rice and choumein. My favorite was the cream cheese wonton.

Best Chinese food in the area, hands down. We’ve been faithful customers of Leo’s for at least 13 years now, and they have maintained their standards for food quality, cleanliness, and customer service throughout the years.
They have great lunch and dinner specials and give you very generous portions. They make their dumplings (the wonton soup ones and the potstickers) in house from scratch. Definitely try their pork potstickers – they are nothing like the pre-made, frozen and reheated ones you get in every other Chinese restaurant. No, Leo’s potstickers are made in-house. They are big and plump, full of delicious stuffing of ground pork and vegetables, soft and chewy on one side and perfectly crispy on the other. They will warn you that they take a few extra minutes to steam and fry up, but it’s totally worth waiting for. They come with savory sauce that balances the flavors perfectly. They are a “must” order on our every visit.
Other staples are also excellent: Orange chicken, Lemon chicken, General’s chicken, Crispy beef, Moo Shu chicken, Walnut shrimp (this one is awesome), Green bean chicken, etc. Soups are great as well, especially on those cold days. Love their wonton and egg flowers soups. The owners are always very friendly and polite and take care of their customers. We don’t live close by anymore, but still take extra time to drive out to eat here. They survived the pandemic when so many places around closed down. We are going to continue to support them.

Ordered take-out, so gave “neutral” 3 stars for service and atmosphere. Spend your food dollars elsewhere. Leo’s used to be very good but now bottom of the barrel serving gloppy, sugar with soy sauce dishes. The crispy eggplant was just big sticky balls of fried dough (try to find the thinly sliced eggplant in it!). The Kung pao chicken had the same soy, sugary, sticky sauce; no red chili peppers, no bell peppers, no celery. Worst of all was the chicken meat itself; tasted like it had been in a freezer for months. Yucky! There both dishes in the garbage; a shamful waste of food and money.

Leo’s Kitchen in Roseville truly impressed with its standout dishes and welcoming atmosphere. The wonton soup was a definite highlight, boasting a remarkably flavorful and well-seasoned broth. The delicate ribbons of egg flower added a lovely touch of richness and visual appeal. It’s the kind of soup you could happily savor bowl after bowl.

The orange chicken proved to be a delightful surprise. The sauce struck a perfect balance of sweet and tangy, coating generously sized pieces of chicken that maintained a satisfying crispness. Its mild spice level makes it an accessible and enjoyable option for everyone at the table, perfect for sharing (or maybe not, as it’s quite tempting to keep it all to yourself!).

The teriyaki chicken offered a different but equally pleasing experience. The chicken was wonderfully tender, and the sauce, while leaning towards a richer, almost hoisin-like profile rather than a traditional teriyaki, was absolutely delicious. It provided a lovely depth of flavor that paired perfectly with the succulent chicken.

The chow mein noodles were also packed with great flavor. While I personally would have enjoyed a touch more of that distinct “wok hei” or smoky sear, the overall taste was fantastic, and I’m already planning a return visit to try it again.

Now, let’s talk about the potstickers – these are a must-try! Forget those small, delicate versions; Leo’s Kitchen serves up generously sized potstickers akin to dim sum dumplings. The pork filling was incredibly satisfying and flavorful. They were so good, they honestly didn’t even need any sauce, but the accompanying dipping sauce was a tasty complement.

Beyond the exceptional food, the service was genuinely pleasant, and the restaurant itself was impeccably clean, creating a comfortable and inviting dining environment. When you combine delicious and well-prepared food with attentive service and a spotless setting, it’s hard to ask for anything more. Leo’s Kitchen has certainly earned a spot on my list of favorite local eateries, and I highly recommend giving it a try!

Since my first review we have been back many times! I even tried the beef broccoli awhile back. It was very good! I added some new pictures.

First review ; We love Leo’s Kitchen! Everything we have tried here is always very good! We have had the cashew chicken, orange chicken, general chicken, walnut shrimp, fried rice and chow main noodles. The lunch special is daily even on the weekends. We always get the hot and sour soup, very good! They have a soda fountain..not soda from a can like some Chinese restaurants around.

Really overpriced for what small portions you get. Was still hungry after eating my takeout, and I don’t eat much in general. There’s better Chinese restaurants all around the area, with more variety and better portions.

Leo’s Kitchen food is always good. But when I’m sick with a cold, all I want is their Hot & Sour Soup. It helps every time. Thank you for allowing my husband to bring some home to me.

I’m always looking for new Chinese restaurants and this was recommended on Nextdoor Neighbor. We tried it and are fans. The lunch special is such a good deal with plenty of food for not much money. But the real deal is that the food is delicious! Fresh tasty, flavorful, hot and authentic. Try this neighborhood gem…it’s well worth the trip.

Leo’s kitchen used to be pretty good. I ordered sweet n sour pork when I opened the container. There were really big puffy dough pieces, not even lightly crispy and a little piece of pork in all that dough. This is my take on the sweet n sour pork. Not enough pork for all that puffy chewy dough and paid full price. Terrible! Not returning again! Shouldn’t do that to your customers.

Used to love this place. Food was fresh and savory. But the past few times I’ve been there it’s been substandard. The chicken doesn’t taste fresh and they use more sauce to cover up poor flavor. I found a lot more tendons and fat in chicken then ever before . They need to keep fresh ingredients on hand but alas it’s probably my last time there
