It’s now Los Alvarez Honduran restaurant. Very clean nice place, authentic cuisine and interesting stuff from Honduras on the walls. The chuletas de cerdo con tajadas (pork chops with chips made out of bananas and a red cabbage slaw type thing on top) were so good and I would say healthy! One thing I had, banana cold drink, I don’t like artificial banana so didn’t care for that drink. The tamarind drink was good.

Family-operated dive that serves truly authentic Mexican cuisine as opposed to the Americanized Tex-Mex you’re sure to find almost anywhere else. Simplicity over style, this is not the place to go if you’re on a social outing looking for a lengthy dining experience.
Menu consists almost exclusively of “street” food made to order in a relatively short time. To put it into perspective the meat selection includes beef tongue and tripe, either of which carries a 25-cents extra charge. No alcohol, but they do serve horchata (look it up) and Mexican Coca-Cola in a 500 ml glass bottle and made with real sugar instead of that high fructose corn syrup U.S. manufacturers have switched over to these days.
Personally, I love their torta meat sandwiches with beans, lettuce, tomato, mayo, cheese, avocado and choice of meat (beef tongue for me). They even have a breakfast menu, although I’ve yet to try it. Great place to eat on the run or order takeout from. Again, nothing fancy but well worth giving a shot if you crave something authentic and relatively cheap.

Under new management. The fajitas were dry and flavorless. Ceviche had pineapple, which didn’t work with the fish. A real step down from Dos Hermanos
