My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary here with a wonderful, enchanting lunch date. The atmosphere was perfect. The restaurant itself was gorgeous. The food excellent! And service wonderful. All around just a superb experience. Will definitely be returning.

‘We had made reservations at a tea house across the street, but when we arrived, we’re told they had no table for two since they had over-booked. No problem since we walked across the street to the Jefferson Hotel and were able to get a table in the lovely Lemaire Restaurant. We enjoyed delicious fried oysters, lump crab cake served over grits, sauteed spinach, and bernaise sauce. They were also serving tea at white clothed tables outside in the mezzanine that had beautiful silver settings. We will make a reservation for tea at the Jefferson Hotel next time! I

A great graduation dinner for our son. Very accommodating restaurant, personalized menu for him! Starting with strong drinks and finishing with one of the best crème brûlée desserts around! Highly recommend this place.

My husband and I decided to spend our Valentine’s Day here as we have heard so much about The Jefferson Hotel and Lemaire. The hostess that greeted us was so welcoming and our waitress was very friendly. Our interaction with them was the highlight of our visit. While the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, it falls terribly short of its 5 star reputation. First, there was no silverware on the table when we were seated and absolutely no ambiance. We both ordered the lump crab cake with spinach and stone grits. I received mine plated, however my husband received his in a bowl without the stone grits. Instead they brought him french fries with no explanation. When I questioned our waitress about the switch she says “Oh yea, about that…there was a mix up in the kitchen so we brought you fries instead.” It would have been polite to ask him what he would have wanted to do rather than just deciding to substitute his meal. The dish was flavorful but it was quite cold when brought to us. The cocktail we ordered was very watered down with no flavor despite having several ingredients in it. Honestly, I have had better ambiance, value and food quality at Arby’s. I feel this restaurant is riding the coattails of the hotel and needs significant improvement before being classified as a fine dining experience.

Food, service, and atmosphere were phenomenal. The drinks left a little to be desired, especially for their price point. I loved the added touches they do for Anniversaries/Birthdays. Highly recommend the Fried Deviled Eggs and Roasted Lamb Shank.

My wife and I dined at Lemaire last night and had the most wonderful experience. The ambiance of the Valentine is unmatched, as is the service we received from our waitress Morgan. My wife has a gluten/walnut allergy, our waitress was very understanding and informed us on which cocktails and menu items included walnuts/gluten. When dessert time came she described each dessert beautifully and we were greatly pleased with the Bread Pudding. Her professional, yet personable and pleasant attitude was by far the most remarkable we’ve seen yet! As for the food and drinks, excellent as well. From the salads to the scallops, to the bread pudding everything was plated beautifully and came out in a timely manner. Cocktails were made well and presented very nicely. From the moment we were seated to the moment we left everybody had a warm welcoming attitude. I definitely recommend everyone try this restaurant!

Amazing experience! One of the best fine dining experiences in Richmond. The staff is extremely attentive and professional. The entrees were top notch, with the chicken and salmon being our choices for the evening. The salmon was cooked to a perfect medium and the almond crust was magnificent, and the chicken my partner got as very tender and savory. We also tried their Chocolate Delight dessert with the Cranberry sorbet, heavenly combination and one of the best desserts at a restaurant. Definitely own for special occasions!

I would have expected the food to be no less than a 4, but closer to a 5. Steak was more rare than medium rare. It should be able to stand on its own, but the steak sauce could not help. I’ve had better fried oysters. Service was terrific. Sean could not have been better. The atmosphere is spectacular. I hope my initial experience before dinner is not impacting my review, which it is not, but when the hostess tells you they can provide some readers, then 15 minutes later, say they cannot, but then the waiter says they can. Have no idea what that was all about. But it was not helpful.

Stopped by over the holidays for lunch. Andrea was our server and she was was awesome…..knowledgeable, welcoming, and provided wonderful service. The cocktails and appetizers were creative and yummy. The entrees were not enjoyed as much. The crabcake was too fishy tasting and lacked lump crab. The the fettuccine with chestnuts was over powered with too much garlic. All dishes were were nicely presented and the atmosphere was relaxing.

We had the most incredible experience at Lemaire. Sean was our server and we can’t say enough good things about him. He made sure our night out was special and we could not have asked for a better server. He was attentive, professional, courteous, friendly, and made our night so memorable. The food was also amazing – highly recommend the mussels, scallops, and bread pudding! – but you really can’t go wrong with whatever you order. This was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. You won’t be disappointed!
