I rarely go out, but I decided to support a friend who was having a going-away gathering at Legends Lounge. I arrived around 4:50 PM after driving from Irvine, hoping for a nice, relaxed evening. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had in a restaurant or bar.

When I arrived, the bartender •Cita• greeted me kindly, and I ordered lemon pepper wings and fries. The cook didn’t even arrive until about 20-30 minutes later, and I didn’t receive my food until after •6:30 PM• well over an hour of waiting. When the food finally came, the fries were •rock hard• and the wings tasted nothing like lemon pepper. They were plain fried chicken. I politely mentioned it to the bartender, and she insisted it was lemon pepper. I didn’t argue — I just set the food aside and ate the free vegetarian tacos that came with my friend’s drink, which were actually very good.

Still hungry, I ordered five more tacos at $1 each, which were fine. When my bill came, the total was **$39**, which made no sense considering it was Taco Tuesday and the wings were supposed to be $1 as well. I explained that I didn’t eat the wings (only two out of six, and one even fell on the floor). I returned the rest — four wings and a full basket of fries — but the bartender said she couldn’t remove it because “the cook said you ate most of them.” That was completely untrue.

To make matters worse, another customer — an older gentleman — was also being **overcharged** during happy hour. When he pointed it out, the **owner (who is also the cook)** became defensive and rude, talking to him in a very disrespectful tone. The man stayed calm and just left frustrated after being treated poorly, and overwhelmed with the over charge.

I then asked the owner about my wings, and he admitted the bartender was “messing up all night.” He eventually refunded me for the wings, but when I asked for a receipt, he got defensive again, asking why I wanted proof after a refund. The whole exchange was **unprofessional, uncomfortable, and unnecessary.**

At the end of the day, this experience reminded me why I hesitate to support BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES . I don’t appreciate being **talked down to, lied to, or treated like my concerns don’t matter.** I went out to enjoy myself, not to argue about food I didn’t eat or be made to feel like the problem.

I truly hope the owner trains his staff better and learns how to speak to customers with respect. This was my first and definitely my last time at Legends Lounge.

I would definitely never come here again if I go to a concert at the dome. Pregame at some other bar because this bar it terrible the only highlight was the security. He was really friendly either then that don’t waste your money here.

This place is fantastic for grabbing drinks and food, offering a range of exciting events like line dancing and karaoke. Plus, they have multiple TVs and, in my opinion, the best bartenders in Los Angeles.
