The restaurant is pretty dated and the a/c seems pretty weak. The cart dimsum is quick and convenient. The tea is a bit too bitter and no chili oil on the tables.

We actually ordered more dimsum dishes today. Too busy to eat. Forgot about taking pictures

This restaurant is always busy.
That’s why the food is always fresh

Save some space for sweet dessert in the end

Our go-to dim sum place. Great service and prices. They’re constantly circling the floor with the carts, but be sure to ask for the dim sum menu because they only have the most popular items on them.

Great dinner menu also! Quick service and huge family style portions.

Look no further for excellent dim sum and Chinese food! They’re located in Chinatown at the corner of Beretania & Maunakea Streets. We always park in the garage of the Chinatown Cultural Plaza, and they do validate.

ATMOSPHERE:
Its your typical Chinese restaurant; big 10-seat tables and flexible 2-seaters, with the bling chandelier in the middle. When you enter, it sounds like a hen house lol! Big windows offer views of people walking along the river.

We usually do dim sum, but you can also order off the main menu.

FOOD:
Steamed Look Funn
Ahh, this is my favorite dish here. We usually order them with shrimp, and there are other stuffings available. The four, bright white burrito-shaped noodles were soft and doused with soy sauce that runs effortlessly off the silky smooth exterior.

Chicken Feet
A favorite of mine since I was a tyke. The four feet were super tender and done in a salt & pepper seasoning. I have yet to see my friends and spouse try this. It’s not bad at all!? It’s sort of like eating chicken skin with a little bit of cartilage. Highly recommended!

Pork Hash
Three good sized pieces came in the steamer, in yellow wrappers and tender pork filled to the brim.

Choy Sum
The bright green stalks & leaves were steamed perfect and drizzled with oyster sauce.

Pan Fried Noodles
Several toppings are available, and we went with boneless chicken. It’s really deep fried crispy noodles topped with a mild gravy sauce and choi sum. Heavenly…

Dumplings
I’m not sure what they’re called exactly, but the three huge dumplings were fully stuffed with savory ground pork, green onions, and peanuts. Very good.

Pan Fried Noodle with Minute Chicken
This was the dish I was wanting to try at LHF, so I was ecstatic to find it here. First off, it’s a huge portion. The noodles are of the crispy variety that you find in Thai and Vietnamese restaurants, though I was hoping for cake noodles. Unfortunately, the noodle to chicken ratio was very lopsided at about 10:3. Way too much noodles, not enough chicken and choi sum toppings. The chicken strips were tender but lightly seasoned which was another disappointment. The sauce was also very subtle in the flavor department and didn’t give this dish any life. Bland dish… Pass.

Custard Tart
If you love custard, you’ll absolutely ADORE these. The eggy filling marries so well with the flaky crust. Holy geezuz. Get the large with four pieces!!!!

SERVICE:
Its gotten better over the years, not as forceful or pushy. Some of the servers accents are so heavy, its difficult to understand what you’re ordering sometimes.

OVERALL:
Excellent Chinese food!

The place is a bit run-down, and the A/C could definitely be better, it felt a little stuffy inside. Service was on the slower side for dim sum today. The baked goods cart sat unattended for 10–15 minutes, which was disappointing, though the other carts were circulating pretty efficiently.

Food-wise, it was a mixed bag. The shrimp shumai had good flavor, but the wrapper was a little rubbery. The baked manapua had an unusual sour taste today that didn’t sit right. On the bright side, the taro puffs were excellent, and the xiao long bao were solid, especially with the red vinegar sauce they served on the side.

Prices are a little on the higher side, and honestly, I’m not sure it was worth it for the overall experience. Not sure if I’ll be back.

Went searching for a good Dim Sum place in Oahu – wouldn’t you know it, there’s a TON of them, especially in Chinatown.

This place didn’t disappoint. food was quick to come out, service was excellent, and our measure of good Dim Sum is always how fall off the bone is the chicken feet, and how flavorful. if you perfect this very finicky dim sum dish, you know the rest is golden.

RESULT: chicken feet is ON POINT.

Smiles
We found the dim sum establishment to be reasonably priced, however, it was highly disorganized and chaotic. The staff appeared visibly exhausted, possibly due to the influx of customers during a busy graduation weekend. While the food itself was delicious, the unsanitary condition of the restroom left us concerned about the overall cleanliness of the kitchen. Regrettably, it was one of the least enjoyable dining experiences we’ve had in terms of ambiance and relaxation.

My family and I, a total of ten people, had a truly unforgettable dining experience at Legend Seafood Restaurant during our visit to Honolulu, Hawaii. We were all eagerly awaiting our meal and were not disappointed with the outstanding cuisine that was served to us. Every dish was crafted with the utmost care and precision, showcasing the freshest and most flavourful seafood available.

One dish that particularly stood out was the Peking duck, a delicacy originating from Beijing, China, that is renowned for its crispy skin and rich flavor. The dish is made by roasting a whole duck with traditional spices until the skin is crispy and the meat is tender. It is usually served with thin pancakes, scallions, and a sweet bean sauce for wrapping. The Peking duck at Legend Seafood Restaurant was cooked to perfection with a crispy exterior and a juicy, flavorful interior. Each bite was a true delight, and we all left feeling thoroughly satisfied.

At Legend Seafood Restaurant, the seafood offerings were just as remarkable as the signature Peking duck. The lobster and crab dishes were a standout, with succulent and juicy meat that was cooked to perfection. The flavours were expertly balanced, with a harmonious blend of spices and seasonings that elevated the taste to an unprecedented level.

Another dish that stood out was the stir-fried veggies with sauteed whole scallops. Unlike other restaurants in Toronto, Legend Seafood Restaurant served the scallops whole, allowing for a more authentic and enjoyable dining experience. The scallops were cooked to a tender, juicy texture and the flavour was outstanding. The scallops were perfectly seasoned and very rich in flavour.

In addition to the exceptional cuisine, the service at Legend Seafood Restaurant was truly extraordinary. The waitstaff was not only friendly but also highly attentive, constantly ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of memorable. They went above and beyond to make sure that our needs were met, and that we had a truly enjoyable evening. Whether it was filling up our drinks, offering recommendations, or simply chatting with us, the staff demonstrated a genuine warmth and hospitality that made us feel at home. Overall, the service at Legend Seafood Restaurant was a standout aspect of our dining experience and truly elevated it to a new level.

With such outstanding food and exceptional service, it’s no surprise that we will be revisiting Legend Seafood Restaurant on our next trip to Honolulu. We are already counting down the days until we can savour their delicious cuisine and experience their warm hospitality once again.

Nice place for dim sum! We came her to kill some time before our flight back home and the servers were very nice. Prices are fair, a bit on the higher end, but not terrible. Food was great.

Best dim dim in Honolulu by far…very lively, freshly prepared dim sums in the cart, and friendly service.

It reminded us so much of Hong Kong dim sum food and atmosphere we were missing.

It was so good that I forgot to take most of The 15 items we ordered.

Highly recommend this place even if you are party of 2.
