The pork lard rice is cooked only after ordered (pork lard is ready according to cashier). It was good, pork lard was crispy. It is about 4 pax portion.
The crispy ice meats also nice. Very crispy.
Nothing to shout about on crystal ice plant. Still crunchy but not as crunchy as I expected. The dressing tastes sweet and sour.
Ordered a bottle of juice at RM9.
2 dishes 1 pork lard rice 1 beverage costed RM99 before tax. After 16% it was RM114.84.
I would not say the taste worth the waiting (especially I am sitting outside and the guest of wedding next door smoking) but i think it worth trying.
Probably making reservation or ordering take away in advance will be a good choice, or come earlier.
The rice is hot when serve.
Dishes in general are fresh and tasty.
Love their pork lard rice, very fragrant and tasty.
We ordered the beancurd with fish maws, tasted nice. However, the seafood phoenix balls and vegetables are so so only. The price is quite reasonable with nice ambience.
Overall, it’s still satisfying dining experience.
So far most of the food we tried here on two occasions were tasty & good portion. I especially loved the Chicken rice, pork chop & nyonya seafood. The dishes were very appetizing and it’s difficult to avoid rice. The claypot kangkung probably one of those that are just regular.
On weekends and special occasions it’s probably best to make prior reservations. Parking is easy during less peak hours. Service is fairly prompt & attentive.
The Kurobata pork belly was good but not particularly outstanding for the premium price.
Ice vegetable salad was nicely executed with a light tangy sauce which complemented the crunchy and cold vegetable very well.
Their other signature vegetable, Claypot kangkung was good too but not particularly outstanding in taste.
The Chiangmai seafood which has prawns, squid and clams in a sour and spicy garlic sauce was good but a little mild compared to proper Thai restaurants. More lime and chilli would have helped.
Seafood pheonix ball were salted egg yolks wrapped in a seafood paste and deep fried. This was good.
The Minced Pork with lard rice was fragrant and tasty and is recommended.
We also had a fried lotus paste pancake which was sweet and crispy. Recommended too.
Overall food was well executed and good quality. Will be back to try more dishes.
